This is a sealed, oval LED combination stop, turn, and tail light. The LEDs in this light are super diodes for exceptional brightness and performance. This red light measures 7-9/16" long x 3-5/16" wide x 3/4" deep. This light meets FMVSS 108 * requirements in any 360 degree position. Lens and housing are one unit that is sonically sealed and waterproof, providing protection to the 10 super light-emitting diodes. The molded plastic housing and durable lens provide all-weather protection against corrosion. The light draws 0.243/.046 amps at 12.8 volts. This light flange mounts through the four mounting holes in the center of each side, centered on 7" lengthwise and 2-3/4" widthwise. The three-wire design includes the lead wires for power and a ground wire for mounting to any surface.

• I do not have a source for a plug that would mate with the factory harness for your OEM tail lights. Your best bet will be to use a circuit tester like part # 3808 and test the wires in the rear harness to determine their function. The black wire on the replacement tail light will attach to the running light circuit, and the red wire attaches to the turn signal/brake light circuit. • It sounds like the LEDs that you previously had installed on your trailer were single function LED lights, and that is why if they saw any power they were lit regardless if different blinker, tail light functions were being applied at the same time. These Optronics Trailer Lights, part # STL78RB, that you referenced are designed for all of the different stop, turn, and tail light functions and should work very well for you.

• Recommendation for Flashing or Strobe Tail Lights for Use on a Tractor
  
• We do have some LED lights that strobe but none in red that are shaped like an oval. For a similar set of lights that do flash with power applied to them, take a look at # CPL65A-STR. These are amber lights. For red flashing lights, we have # CPL4R-STR. These are 4 inch diameter round lights. Any of the strobing lights we do carry will only act flash and will not have any other functions.
