Clearance Formula:
Use the formula below to ensure there will be enough space between your truck cab and trailer when executing a 90-degree turn.
(A + B) - C = Clearance
A= Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw to truck cab
B= Length of Sidewinder arm (19.5K = 22")
C= Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)
For example: If the distance from the center of the hitch to the cab is 36", 36" + 22" = 58". If your fifth wheel trailer is 102" wide, take half (51"), then plug in: 58" - 51" = 7" of clearance.

- Will Weight Distribution Be Affected Using A Sidewinder, # ST300-5AS02, On 2005 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab

You are not changing where the trailer is attached to the truck, so the weight of the trailer is still being loaded over the rear axle. So it does not cause any extra stress on your truck.

- Will a Slider Assembly Provide Clearance for Maneuvering a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 2004 Ford F-250
- If you use a Universal installation kit to install the rails for the 16K Reese Hitch with Round Tube Slider, item # RP30075, the center of the King pin will end up 4 inches in front of the center line of the rear axle. Measure from this point to the back of the truck cab then, take 1/2 the width of your trailer, 48 inches, and subtract that from the first measurement. Then, you can add the extra 12 inches the slider assembly provides. If you end up with 4 inches more from the center of the king
