King pin Custom Wedges: The included universal wedge works great on preventing the king pin from rotating in most fifth wheel hitches. However, Holland and PullRite hitches will require a custom wedge. Hitch Problems: The Sidewinder models will work well with all fifth wheel hitches, except for the Curt Q5 and the B&W Companion. The Curt Q5 cushioning allows too much movement for the Sidewinder to operate properly. The B&W hitch requires two additional bolts (1/2", grade 5) to be installed at the rear most support to keep the hitch from rotating. Check with B&W about warranty regulations. Factory suggestion of air inflation level provided less than satisfactory chucking reduction. Finally reached an acceptable ride after inflating air spring to 120 psi, which raised the level of the unit about 1 1/2 inches about the factory suggested mark. Great for a short bed, but now have a full bed truck.
