A built-in adapter allows this bike rack to fit inside a 2" and 1-1/4" hitch receiver. The threaded hitch pin uses anti-rattle technology to secure the rack inside the hitch.
The wheel hoops accommodate wheels up to 2-1/2" wide, and turning knobs are used to adjust the distance between hoops to fit bikes of varying lengths. Rubber straps secure the bike wheels to the wheel hoops.
Bike hooks slide easily down the ratcheting system and click securely in place. The push buttons allow the hooks to slide up the ratcheting system to allow for bike removal.
This cross country model offers convenience and reliability for your traveling needs. With a two-bike capacity, it accommodates most frame sizes using wheel hoops and bike hooks. Constructed with soft-frame coating to protect the bike's finish, the bike hooks securely hold the bike in the wheel hoop cradles. The hooks smoothly slide up and down by using an easily-adjustable push button ratcheting system. The hassle of removing wheels is eliminated with wheel hoops that accommodate wheels up to 2-1/2" wide and adjust to fit different frame lengths. To decrease in size, the upright bar with bike hooks folds down when not in use. A powder-coated finish protects it from corrosion from the elements. This rack fits 2" x 2" and 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" trailer hitches.

Today we are going to show you part number S64670 from Swagman. What we have here is their 2 bike bicycle rack, the wheel mount style. This rack has the capacity of carrying two bikes and also has the capacity to carry a wide variety of bike frames, regardless if the top tube is going level, straight, or going at a severe angle. The push button ratchet arm easily adjusts to carry your bike and virtually and frame. The bike hooks have a soft padding coating on them to ensure you will not do any unnecessary scratches to your bike. The wheel mounts themselves adjust very easily for different bicycle widths. And, the rack is powder coated to protect the rack itself from the elements. We will cover some of the features of this bicycle rack.
One of the best part about this rack is it can actually fit 2 inch receivers or 1-1/4 receivers. AS you can see on the end of the shank there, it has the bushing that actually bolts onto the side of the 1-1/4 shank which allows it to work in 2 inch receiver hitches. For our demonstration here we will go ahead and take off the bushing and install it in a regular class I receiver hitch. These parts can be stored for later use. Now we will go ahead and install it in our class I receiver hitch and show you how it works. Once you have the hitch pin hole lined up, we will go ahead and install our bolt. What it does is it actually threads into the bicycle rack itself and doubles as an anti sway device. And then, a hitch pin clip goes in on the other side just for an added bit of safety.
Next we will show you actually how the rack unfolds. We will show you how little space it takes up for storage. It is easy to do. Basically you just pull out the pins here, fold it up, and reinstall the pins in the pin holes right here. And as you can see, it folds up pretty thin. It does not take up too much space in storage. Lets go ahead and load up some bikes. It is pretty easy. Basically, the main thing that you want to do is go ahead and get this post out of the way. And also, it depends on what size bikes you have, it might be easier to go ahead and take off the hooks and then put the hooks back on when you are ready to put the bikes back on. Next what you want to do is go ahead and take the straps off, or just loosen them really.
And when you install your bikes you want to make sure that your bike wheels fit in the wells pretty easily. They are really adjustable, all you have to do is loosen the knob right here and slide them whichever way you need to. And go ahead and put the center post back up, put your pin in, and go ahead and install one of the hooks. You can see that it just ratchets it down and you just go ahead and just push it until it contacts, maybe just one or two clicks more if you can, and your bike is already secured. Once your bikes are in place we can go ahead and put our straps back on. And we will just go ahead and repeat for the second bike. There you have it, two bikes ready to go down the road. And there you have it for part number S64670 from Swagman, the two bike bicycle rack with the wheel mount style.

Great product! Easy to assemble and easy to install. A good solid fit on both my Prius with the 1.25" hitch and on my 4runner with the 2" hitch. The bikes ride up nice and high so you don't have to worry about dragging the tires on dips or drive way curbs. My wife and I are in our sixties and we both ride Trek hybrids (old fart bikes). The cross bars drop at a fairly steep angle which makes it a pain to mount them on a traditional bike carrier. This bike rack eliminates that problem and there is no need for additional bungee cords to keep the bikes from swinging around and rubbing against each other. My wife or I can mount the carrier and load the bikes in less than 10 minutes. The bikes ride like they are part of the car!6007

Love the rack so far. I’m going to try a do three different ratings here, so bare with me. BIKERACK (5 stars): the bike rack has some issues, that seem to be standard with these “import” models (Swagman/SportRack); however, that being said: the bikes are very well secured and very well protected. The ratcheting arm clamps go down tightly and stay there. No friction knobs to keep checking. Once you push them down, they stay there, and there is a place to put a pad lock on each for anti-theft security. The hooks are also padded and did not mark up the bikes even in the slightest. Due to the flexibility of the rack I was able to get a large men’s bike and small woman’s bike loaded and was able to arrange them so everything made good positive contact; hooks, wheel straps, etc.. Overall, I’m not the least bit worried the bikes will come loose during transit. Excellent design and so very easy to use. CONSTRUCTION (3.5 stars): this is where all these import models seem to fail; but it’s due to their flexibility of use. The entire rack is made from 1-1/4” steel tube. This was done so you could use the rack on a 1-1/4” receiver hitch. With this light steel there is some inherent “flex” that allows the rack to wiggle. It would have been much better to use bigger steel that fit a standard 2” receiver, then have an adapter to go down to the 1-1/4” receiver. I’m going to use the rack a few more times as is, but I may make some modifications to it to help sturdy things up a lot more. The anti-wobble bolt, while a great idea probably works well on the 1-1/4” receiver, but with the supplied “adapter” it doesn’t do a good enough job on the 2” receiver. In review of both Swagman & Sport Rack, they’re made exactly the same, except for the following: Swagman has ratcheting locking support hooks which are excellent; the Sportrack uses a friction lock, don’t like that. Both racks use metric hardware, so if you think you’re going to replace a bolt with standard hardware, no dice, the threads are different, etc. The Swagman can also be used on Class I hitches and above, whereas the Sportrack is for Class II and above. Packaging of this Swagman rack, finish, easy of assembly and use were nice. ETRAILER.COM (5 stars): I will do business with them again. Fair prices, they honored the Price Pledge guarantee, when you call you can actually get a live person who actually knows some stuff about the products they carry, fast shipping, nice web-site, etc…. First off E trailer is the best sight going to buy your racks, the prices are as good and better than other sights. The customer help I received from this sight was second to none, they know in some case what you need better than you do. I also had to return the first order as my bikes didn't work well on a hanging rack and the Cristy gave me customer service that was second to none. She is top notch at what she does for etrailer and I would recommend you ask for her! I would absolutely buy from this web sight again. The vehicle that this rack is used is a 2006 Toyota Corolla. I bought this product to be used on my Honda Fit in order to carry my Electra Townie bike. The Honda Fit has very low ground clearance so the curve in the bike hitch keeps it from bottoming out. I searched for a long time for a bike rack that was RV compatible and would fit my particular trailer, with its 1 1/4" receiver, curved back end, and ladder. Based on the product description and positive reviews, I decided to try the Swagman XTC 2. The rack shipped on the day I ordered it and was here within a couple of days! Fast shipping! The rack is very solid and well constructed. The finish looks very nice, though only time will tell, of course. Installation was simple, though the directions included seemed to be an older version than Swagman has on their website. There were also 2 extra screws and 2 extra lock washers that were not mentioned anywhere in the directions. That always concerns me a bit. An e-mail to customer support at E-trailer gave me an answer within minutes. Great customer support! I secured the rack to my hitch with a 2.5" Brinks lock, rather than the bolt provided. The lock fits just right, so there was no excess movement. The best part is that the rack dimensions were spot on and with the adjustable wire wheel trays, I was able to position both bikes and not make contact with my RV or the ladder. Mounting the bikes was easy and between the ratcheting hook and the rubber straps holding the tires in place, the bike was completely secure. Also, there was very little movement of the rack, even with vigorous shaking, so I did not feel a need to tether the rack as the directions mentioned might be required. After a 2 hour tow to the lake on some pretty bumpy interstates, I was relieved to find my bike still firmly in place, with no scratches on the tube, and no contact made with my camper. Another big plus is I was able to take the included 2" adapter and use the rack on my 2" truck receiver and take the bike with me to different areas to ride. Very versatile. When I got home, it took about 2 minutes to remove the bike, fold up the rack and take it off my RV. This is the second product I have purchased from E-trailer, and it will not be my last. I love this rack. I bought one so I could carry a custom bike I built (a chopper-style bike with a curved top tube. Since my bike is a little heavier than most aluminum bikes, this platform rack makes it easy to carry since I only have to lift the bike up high enough to fit the wheels in the hoops. What I like most about this bike rack is the hitch size 11/4 for my Malibu car. This allows the bike rack to lock into the hitch as close to my back of the car as possible. I have a high dollar carbon time trial bike for triathlons, and I can trust this bike rack to haul my bike any where I want to go. It is very secure with the locking hitch bolt and three points of your bike to be secured. To be safe, use a rag, or soft material between your top bike tube and the top locking part. After looking around on other sites I ended up buying the rack here at etrailer. They had WAY more information(pics/video) about the rack than any other site I went to. The information was important b/c I have a Giant MTB with an XL frame. I wanted to be sure this rack would work for me before I bought it. Carrier arrived intact although a third middle nylon strap around box might help, as the outer box seam had split during shipment. Carrier was easy to assemble and seems sturdy and well designed. Mounted easily on my Subaru Forester. After tightening hitch bolt, rack seemed secure and stable. Have not traveled yet with bikes but it looks like we will be very happy together.8049

Beefy, Solid, Straight forward Those are the words the came to mind as I unpacked this rack. The material it's made of is thick and beefy. The threaded hitch receiver pin, once screwed in, makes this rack seem like one with your vehicle. It took all of ten minutes to install. It's seriously easy to setup this rack. Add a pad lock or two for simple lock down, at the racheting arms for quick trips to the local track. Or for long distance road trips, add a wire rope and bigger pad lock to fully anchor your bikes and the rack to your vehicle's trailer hitch.... and you're done. Great Rack with one problem This is a great rack for the money. easy to assemble, easy to install, easy to load. very secure and bikes ride great. One problem and it's not really swagman's fault. Some new trucks including mine have a 2 1/2" receiver. I thought I would just buy a longer bolt. No hardware store had a longer bolt with this thread. Swagman makes a very nice threaded bolt and lock that will fit the 2 1/2". I highly recommend you buy one when you buy this rack if you have the larger receiver.3062

I puchase this for my Scion XB After reading the reviews on Mountain Bike Reviews(MTBR),I chose the Swagman.Very simple design,yet very effective!I have recommended this rack to friends & family.The only "glitch" I've come across,is the "ratcheting hold-downs".One has to actually push-down on the "hold-downs" in order to dis-engage the "ratcheting mechanism." By doing this one can "release one's bike", no biggie,just get use to it.I added a bike(s) locking device,w/chain,& it looks like part of the "Swagman package!2844

Sturdy - Fits and Works Right We bought this carrier along with two different Hidden Hitch class I hitches to be able to carry our bikes on two different cars. The carrier fits right and works well on either car. This carrier is strong and carries our bikes very well. I can lock-down the ratchet arms over the bike frames with padlocks, and lock the carrier to the hitch with the #S64029 locking pin, to create a very theft-resistant package. (Don't ever leave an expesive bike out in the open for very long, even if you lock it down like this!) GREAT item for carrying one or two bikes! 1775

It should work just fine on your Mazda 3. The rack will accommodate bikes with up to a 66 inch wheel base. There is quite a lot of travel for the ratcheting hooks so things like mountain bikes usually are fine. If you have a really different frame like a step-through, a bike adapter bar will work. I have added a link to the adapter bars if you need to take a look them.

Very well made. Easy to use. No rattles. Very tight, solid construction. Quality materials. Excellent design. Just installed but I am confident this was exactly the right bike carrier for my needs. It is being used on a 2002 Saab SE. The hitch installed is Draw-Tite's 36280 which is not recommended when there is a "rear air dam" which this car has. It took about 20 minutes using a Dremel tool to alter the air dam and install the S64670 carrier. From the images supplied you can see the modification is fairly minor and appearance is minimally affected. This is a great bike carrier and I am very pleased I am able to use it with my Saab.53801

Received the Swagman yesterday. Just installed it. Took only 20-30 min. We were a bit concerned if we'd have to remove pedals to clear spare tire. We didn't. There is plenty of clearance. One reviewer said the pin for the 2" receiver wasn't long enough??? It was perfect the way it came. The bikes sit so secure, makes us want to take off and try it. We needed this on the tow vesicle behind our motorhome and it was just what we needed. 39807

It arrived today. I am using this on a 2012 Honda CRV with a 1-1/4 hitch. It fits perfectly just snug enough to not shake loose or fall out while I was adjusting the bikes (without the hitch pin). The only thing I have issue with is the instructions. They are a little vague. There were pictures of the unit, but the text did not explain them well enough. I was able to figure it out and get the rack built and on the vehicle and it works GREAT. If this was a review of etrailer.com it would be Excellent all of the way. As with my Draw-Tite hitch, I ordered my Swagman XTC-2 bike carrier on a Monday, received it Wednesday, and had it put together and mounted on my 2010 Ford Flex in about 20 minutes. Good strong high quality carrier at a fair price. Again, the vehicle specific installation video was a definite plus. My wife and I ride Fuji Saratoga 1.0 comfort bikes which have a longer wheel base and all the other carriers I reviewed would not expand wide enough. Installed on a 2008 Lexus ES350. Excellent fit but have not tried it out yet. The sliding wheel brackets and adjustable cane hooks are easy to use. Everything folds up nicely for easy storage. The rubber straps that go through the tire spokes remains to be seen how they will weather and wear.36171

For the price a good product. A simple and unique design. The wheel cradles seem a little under built in the attachment points. They use plastic shims that tighten with a plastic knob. This seems to be the weakest point of the design. Time will tell if it will hold up. The only other gripe is that the hole designed to recieve a lock on the ratcheting upright is too small for the shank on most standard key and combo locks. The anti-sway hitch point is pretty good and the rack does hold the bike pretty firmly. Without bikes, it does fold up nicely or fold down for easier access to a tail gate or trunk, but like most hitch mounted bike racks, it will always be a bit of a nuisance for getting to the back of the vehicle.34932

A little heavy, but a great hitch rack! Easy to assemble. Folds up nice and compact in the garage. Super easy to load the bikes and install the rack on the car. Just because it doesn't say Thule or Yakima or 1up doesn't make this a bad rack. Basic, sturdy rack without the high price of a flashy name. When the anti-rattle bolt is tightened down, i can shake the whole back end of the car with the rack and it doesn't make a sound :) 29127

Easy to assemble. This carrier will be used on a 2012 Nissan Sentra using the Draw Tite 24794 hitch. After the installation on that hitch, there is about 2 inches clearance between the rearmost projection of the rear bumper to the frontmost portion of the wheel carrier of the rack. It is easy to put the bikes into the rack. The trunk lid cannot be opened with the bikes mounted on the rack. The rack seems to be stable and doesn't wobble or bounce much.26666

Just travel over a 1000 miles with our bikes. The rack held them securely, and we didn't scratch the new car or the new bikes! Directions were easy to follow and delivery was right on time. The rack does sway some, which made me nervous at first, but it wasn't a problem. We did tighten everything as directed about every 250 miles. The carrier is solidly built and was very easy to assemble. You should spend some time, however, to see which bike should go first, which wheel well should be inserted first on the carrier, how the bikes should be balanced, which ratchet should be front or rear, and how the bikes should be balanced. You only have to do this once. You would have to do this with any rack anyway, since all bikes are different. You will like this rack if you have a bike that would otherwise need a frame adapter, which most womens bikes would need. Etrailer delivered very promptly and with excellent communications. Ordered on Thursday and the rack was delivered on Tuesday. First class company and service. Free shipping is a plus. Would do business with them anytime.18493

Quick Overview I bought the hitch recently and very satisfied with what I got. I bought it to carry a bike rack and it works just fine. The hitch looks solid and reliable. I'm sure there are no any issues with pulling a small trailer too. I just don't think Hyundai Accent is a right car for pulling :) I ordered both - the hitch and the bike rack. Both came in time, packed well. No issues with the delivery. The installation procedure is very easy too - 4 screws and that's it. I did it by myself, no assistance. I had to use my kid's small stool for supporting one side while I was working on the other side. Of course, it could be easier if there is another pair of hands holding a hitch while you are working with the screws. Sorry for my English, but I think the idea is clear. Regards, Sergey. 34952

Nice product - pretty well built - but I would make some changes to the directions and included. One allen wrench is included, but if you are going to use the unit without the adapter, it needs a larger allen wrench. There are 2 extra screws inside - no mention of what to do with them. As far as eTrailer is concerned, don't believe them when they say an item has shipped. The date they say it ships is the date the shipping label has been printed. If you get the email late Friday, dont expect it to ship until Monday.74759
The extra two screws are used to the secure the caps on the ends of the rack arms that hold the wheel hoops. We have contacted Swagman about adding this information to the instructions. The order shipped 330/13 at 5:54AM. That means the box was packed and loaded onto a UPS trailer. UPS does not pick up on Saturday or Sunday, so it was on the first pickup Monday morning.

I used my Swagman XTC-2 bike rack for the 1st time yesterday. It held two bikes securely on the highway going 75mph. No rattles or noise. It appears to be of high quality. My friends have the XC and are quite happy with them. However, the XTC-2 holds the bicycles a little higher than the XC, providing more ground clearance. The Swagman ad doesn't mention this point, but it's significant. The photo suggests this point and a helpful woman at Etrailer (forgot her name) verified it for me. I bought this to use on both a pickup and an RV. Assembly was quick and easy. Loaded the bikes on and drove around and was happy to NOT hear any rattles due to the screw-pin assembly on the receiver. It's very easy to firmly seat both a men's and a women's frame in the carrier. It's also easy to move from one vehicle to the others as long as you have either pliers or a wrench. The only head-scratcher was that there two small sheet metal screws, but no mention in the instructions as to what they did. The downloadable instructions on this site are updated to include that step. I'm happy with the quick shipping, follow-up e-mail for comments/concerns, and the updated instructions availble through etrailer.com.61017

It was a toss up between this and the cheaper XT. I got this one cuz they said the wheel brackets are better and it was only a little more. I'm glad I got the XTC. Can't compare to the XT since I never saw one. But I like the XTC a lot. Easy to put it together and it fits the 1.25" hitch tight and nothing moves when you drive. I had no idea Sunday when I was driving around with my mountain bike that it was even there. Quality is good. Just HEFT the thing in your hands...it is pretty heavy duty. I appreciate the attention to detail on this. Holds the bike TIGHT. I would drive across the country with this with two bikes no qualms whatsoever. 58352

The Swagman XTC-2-S64670 is a great heavy duty bike rack. It is very easy to use and combined with the anti-rattle hitch lock and cable it is locked tight into the hitch receiver. No wobble at all and the bike rack is solid. The XTC-2 is well worth the money if you are looking for a solid heavy duty bike rack that will provide years and years of service. This is by far the best bike rack I've ever had. It took 10 minutes to put together and the bikes mount very easily. The rack is pretty stable, just a little swaying of the rack itself on bumpy roads, but even then the bikes don't rattle or bang into each other. I am using it on a Ford Edge. The rack weight is reasonable and it's easy to remove when I'm not using it. I like the ratchet system for the bike holders. Etrailer.com service was great. This rack is being used on a VW EOS convertible with a Draw-Tite hitch. Overall my experience is fairly positive given the price. Pros: - Easy to assemble, reasonably light, easy to adjust. The ratcheting hooks work well, and the rubber straps are easy to attach/remove. - When the rack is attached to the hitch but not in use, you can either lock both side arms folded up, or lock the center arm down to either side. The latter feature is useful if you have a convertible where the trunklid opens up from the front to stow the top, as otherwise it would hit the rack. Of course, leaving the rack in this position, you'd better remember it's there, as you're not going to see it in your rear-view mirror when parking and it sticks out a bit from the back of the car. - It's trivially easy to individually remove/reinstall the wheel holders and hooks, so if you only need to transport one bike you can remove the extra set for a cleaner look. - The locking hitch pin & cable (ordered separately) seem to work as advertised, and is a reasonably convenient solution for locking the car/rack/bikes together. - Holds the bikes securely and seems fairly solid (although not as solid as some higher end racks I've seen). Cons: - The welds on the wheel holders are pretty ugly. I have no reason to believe they won't hold, but it doesn't inspire confidence. - There is very little clearance between the pedal of the inboard bike and the trunklid. I would be very worried that this is going to scratch the trunklid. This might be specific to the combo of car/hitch/rack/bike. - I've had to retighten the set screws to eliminate some wiggle. Not sure if this will be a recurring issue. - The rack is mounted on a 1-1/4" hitch, so I had to remove the Allen bolt holding the spacers for a 2" hitch. That bolt was on _really_ tight. I literally bent two cheap hex wrenches before I got out my ratchet wrench and a high quality hex head and got it removed. - The hook locks down on the frame rather than the front wheel. In retrospect, this probably isn't as good as some of the other systems that grab onto only the front wheel (although to be fair, those are somewhat more expensive).54074

I ordered the Swagman XTC-2 bike carrier along with Hidden Hitch class III hitch for my 2012 Kia Sorento. Both came in 5 business days and with no problems. I assembled the carrier on my garage floor in less than 15 minutes. It's well designed and fits good in my new hitch though it seems to wobble a bit - even with the 2" adaptor. This is a great hitch. You can tell quality when you pull it out of the box. The rack fits snug, was easy to assemble, and simple to use. I have this attached to a Nissan Cube. Would highly recommend the product to anyone looking for a quality bike rack. I prefer this type over hanging racks, because the bikes are much easier to load, and they're much more stable. Seems to be a great bike carrier. I've only used it a few times and I was only carrying one 20 lb road bike. Everything seemed stable and sturdy doing 70mph on the expressway. Hopefully soon I'll be taking my wife's and my hybrid "tanks" across town. I'm anxious to see how it handles with two heavy bikes. I installed this on a 2008 Volkswagen Passat Sedan. The etrailer reviews, and videos are really what sold me on this rack. This rack is well built and feels solid. It is easy enough to unbolt, fold it up, and toss it in the trunk when not in use. Having a threaded bolt securing the rack to the hitch may sound like a pain, but it really is not. Keep a ratchet in your car, and it unbolts quick enough. The trade off is that the rack does not move while driving. At ALL. The rack is easy to adjust for different bikes, and you can take off the parts if you only bring one bike. On the passat I needed a bungee to secure my pedal when using the inner position so that the pedal did not come in contact with the paint. The rack has plenty of clearance, and curves up. My car is lowered with sport springs, and the rack is nowhere near the road. If I had more cars, I would buy more of these swagman racks. 50631

I already had a 4 bike carrier from Swagman, but am taking a long trip with only 2 bikes and wanted to have the option to have a lighter, and less extended rack. I really prefer the racks where you just place the bike wheels in the mount and I love my other Swagman, so I had no problem in choosing this brand again. Also, etrailer is terrific. The Bike Rack showed up intact, very easy to put together. The instructions that came in the box were old instructions, so I had to call etrailer and get help, which they took great care of my problem. It is very easy to put on the vehicle and seems to be very easy to operate, very glad that we purchased the product. The only thing that we are not happy with is that there is movement after the rack was attached to the back of our 2010 Lexus RX350, we have the 2in hitch opening, and there is quite a bit of movement and that is with the adapters attached. Wish that it was alittle more snug and less movement.47736

E-Trailer shipped this rack to me super fast...ordered on a Saturday, received on a Wednesday via UPS Ground. Very happy about that. The prodcut itself is exactly what I wanted. Nice and sturdy, fits my large mountain bike and roadbike together no proglem, and also looks pretty slick on the back of my black truck. This bike rack is exactly what I was looking for. It is heavy duty, but not too heavy to lift & carry when putting it on our vehicle or camper. I feel that our bikes are very safe and will get to where ever we are going, no matter the distance. Super easy to load and lock down and easy to fold down for getting things out of the Traverse. My wife likes it much better than our old "hanging" rack and can take the bikes off with ease. Great product!46807

The rack was easy to put together and mount on my vehicle ('98 Ford Expedition). I haven't hauled any bikes yet but the system seemed very solid. The only recommendation I would make is to provide instructions on which bike (bigger/smaller/mountain/road, etc) should be placed in the rack closest to the vehicle, and which of the hold-down brackets should be used with which bike. It was a little bit of a puzzle to figure it out.43661

Love this bike carrier. Easiest carrier I have ever used, no need for extra tie downs or padding to protect bikes. Extremely impressed with quality and stability. Mounted it in the receiver on my pop-up camper and when I went down an extreme dip, coming out of a parking lot, I drug the hitch but not the bike rack.
