- Will the Swagman Original 4 Part # S64400 Carry a Womens Bike
- With the Swagman part # S64400, I would definitely recommend using a frame adapter for womens bikes. Swagman offers a couple of adapters for womens and alternative frame bikes, part # S64004 and part # 64005. Both of these adapters will allow you to carry most womens bikes level so the weight is balanced on the carrier and the bikes are carried in a level manner. - Distance from Hitch Pin Hole to Back of Upright Bar on the Swagman Original Bike Rack # S64400
- According to Swagman, the Swagman Original, # S64400, measures over 13 inches from the center of the first hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar, so it will clear a spare tire as long as the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the spare tire is less than 13 inches.
The 13 inch measurement is actually from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the closest bolt hole on the bracket that holds the upright bar. There is another couple of inches beyond

- Will a Hitch Mount Hanging Bike Rack Damage the Cables on a Trek Hybrid Bicycle
- Using a hanging rack like the Standard 4 Bike Rack, # S64400, could put pressure on the cable. And while in transit the bike will move at least a little which will apply some friction to the cable. So while it is highly unlikely it will damage the cable, it is possible, but i have not heard of any problems like this occurring. This rack does have channels in the cradles to help protect the cables on bikes.
You may want to consider a platform rack that secures the bike at the wheels like the

- Why is 15 Inches Ground Clearance Needed When Using Swagman Original Bike on an RV or Trailer
- When going up steep hills or in dips, a trailer or RV rear end will pitch down lower than a regular passenger vehicle so the extra ground clearance is needed. You might get away with 13 inches in some scenarios but the recommended 15 inches is the goal you need to reach. If damage was to occur, the warranty would not cover it since the rack was not at the manufacturer specified height.
But, there is something you can do to get the last few inches you need. You can use Curt Multipurpose Ball M

- Recommendation for a 4 Bike Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack for a Motor Home and Jeep Grand Cherokee
- The only 4 bike rack that we carry that can be used on a motor home and on another vehicle with a 2 inch hitch is going to be the Swagman Standard 4 Bike Rack, # S64400, that you have referenced. It will hold childrens and adult bikes. It does not have the ability to fold.

- Hitch Bike Rack Recommendations for 4 Inch Bumper on a Travel Trailer
- In my opinion the Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier for RV Bumpers, # S64663, is the best rack for use on a 4 inch continuously welded steel RV bumper. This rack folds compactly for storage, will also work in a standard 2 inch hitch on a vehicle, and comes with the bolt on receiver for the RV bumper. This style of rack is super easy to load the bikes on and secures the bikes very well, keeping them from contacting each other or the back of the trailer causing damage.

- Keeping Bikes From Swaying on the Swagman 4 Bike Rack #64940 on the Back of a 24 Foot Trailer
- The Swagman Standard 4 Bike Rack, # S64400, has cushioning in the cradles that helps keep your bikes from swaying front to back. But even with this feature, it is still possible, especially on the back of an RV or trailer, for the bikes to make some contact with each other. With any hanging bike rack, this is always a possibility. But that is why they started making the anti-sway cradles.
In the instructions, linked below, it states: Take care to add padding on any area of the bikes that touc

- Which Swagman Hitch Mounted Bike Racks Can Be Used Behind a Trailer
- The Swagman Original for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitch receivers, # S64400, is rated for use behind an RV. I have included a link to the instructions below. The folding 4 bike Swagman rack, # S64445, is not recommended for use behind a trailer because the folding option makes the rack too weak to handle the extra force present at the rear of a trailer.
We also have the Standard 3 Bike Rack for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch Trailer Hitches - Swagman Original, # S64152. This is a 3 bike rack unlike the o
