This adapter fits between the seat post and handle bar stem post of the bike. It allows users to carry bikes with sloping tube tops and some children's bikes on hitch mounted racks. The bar's length can be adjusted to fit multiple frame sizes. Complete with two vinyl hangers to prevent damage to the frame, this adapter can be used with no-rise bike stems. One hanger adjusts using a pin, and the other adjusts using a turning knob.

I was unsure of which alternative frame bike adapter to buy so I bought two (S64004 and S64005). After using both of these, I would ONLY buy product S64005. The S64004 product is very cumbersome to put on your bike. The tubes don't stay together and it will take you 15mins to get it put on your bike. Also, it will scratch your seat post and handlebar stem. The S64005 bike adapter is the one to buy! It is very simple and easy design. Very easy to get on and off your bike in 1min. The tubes stay together with a magnet type design. No scratches, no hassle! I would recommend buying this product for sure! (S64005!!) 20646

Good quality and heavy gauge. Overall good product. One size fits all concept makes it a little cumbersome to work with, but does work well. The clear vinyl sleeves over the fasteners could have a little more clearance to allow easier assembly.17398

This is the best adapter on the market. Very versitile. I have adapted it to carry mopeds using a chain on one end. I own two other Swagman S640004 adapters that are 15 years old and still work great.11964

A little cumbersome to use. Adds quite a bit of time to bike hookup time. Too large for children's bikes 15 inches or under which was my primary reason for buying it.8846

I bought this one because the other snap kind adaptor almost caused me an accident on the freeway. The snap was unlocked while I was carrying the bike. So..I think this one has the pins lock. It should not come off easily. The problem is..it's not easy to put it on. The front part is not bad you just turn the knob. The back part is not easy. I don't know why they just use a knob like the front!!! Another thing the bar came in 2 pcs and they can come apart so easy. When putting on the bike, it feel loose.8247
