• Cutting the back of the Titan Hitch Box Extension for 2-1/2 inch Trailer Hitches, item # RP45018, off is not a concern as long as you leave at least 6 inches behind the center of the hitch pin hole, and you do not excessively heat the extension when cutting it off. • The 48 inch maximum length mentioned in the product description represents the distance from the furthest hitch pin hole on the vehicle side of the extender and the hitch pin hole on the other end. The distance from the hitch pin hole where the extension would attach to the receiver on your truck to the front face of the receiver on the extension is 50 inches.
