- From what I have found in my research, to flat tow the vehicle the ignition key must be turned to the first or accessory position. Even with all accessories in the vehicle switched off, this creates sufficient draw on the battery to discharge the battery gradually while towing. - I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he said if your battery is reading 12 volts you will want to test the 12 volt outlet that the remote is plugged into with a voltmeter. He said on the Roadmaster Even Brake System, part # RM-9400, the remote needs to be receiving 12 volts for the unit to be working properly. If it is receiving less than 12 volts through the outlet it will give the Not Operational - Low Battery message.
