Roadmaster Hi Low Hitch Adapter

  • Fits 2" x 2" trailer hitches.

  • Horizontal distance from pin hole to pin hole: 15"
  • Not for use with any type of trailer - tow bars only

Received the product in excellent time. It is just what we needed and were very pleased that we could get the drop hitch made by Roadmaster as it will match the tow bar that we have on out motorhome and tow vehicle.13672

heavy but otherwise functional The 2" receiver was so tight on this to make the disassembly impossible without a mallet. Also, it's quite heavy.1186

  • Hitch Adapter for a Class II Hitch on a 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport Van is Not Recommended
  • I am sorry, but we do not sell an adapter to give your Class II hitch a raised receiver opening. Adapters like you are seeking will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by half, so they are not recommended for use with a Class I or II hitch. The Roadmaster 6 inch High - Low Hitch Adapter, part # RM-048-6 is only intended for use with a tow bar when towing a vehicle. It cannot be used with your 1-1/4 inch hitch nor is it designed for the purpose you need. We do offer a Class III hitch

  • High - Low Adapter for a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch Opening
  • No, I am sorry, but this will not work. First, the RM-048-6 is for towing a vehicle behind a motor home. Every time you add either an adapter or an extender, you reduce your tongue weight by 50 percent. You would need to add both, and with a Class I hitch, the weight of the bike rack, adapter, and extender would be too much for the vehicle. We do offer some great bike racks which are made to attach directly to the vehicle. We also have some 2 bike racks which will fit your 1 1/4 inch hitch.

  • Do You have a Specification or drawing Sheet on the 6 inch High-Low Hitch Adapter
  • You can use a Hi-Low Hitch to level the RV hitch to the tow bar. These hitches have a solid-steel shank, allowing a 10,000-pound capacity and 400-pound tongue weight. I do not have a dimensional drawing at this time but I did go out to our warehouse and measure the part for you and from the center of the receiver pin hole to the center of the adapter pin hole is 12 inches. From the center of the receiver pin hole to the start of the welded gusset is 6 inches. The Roadmaster 6" High - Low Hi

  • Using a Hitch Extension On a Class A Motorhome to Carry a Motorcycle Carrier and Motorcycle
  • The Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, item # RM-048-6 is not for use with any type of trailer. This item is designed for towing with a tow bar and not for weight carrying applications. There are several hitch extenders available but they do not have a rise or drop. I have listed them below. You will also need to keep in mind that using an extender will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle and/or hitch by 50 percent. Whichever has the lowest tongue weight capacity 1/2 of that will

  • Can the Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, # RM-048-6 be Used to Tow a Trailer
  • You are correct. The Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, # RM-048-6, is rated to be used with tow bars for flat towing behind a motor home and not for weight carrying applications or trailer towing. The use of any adapter, including this one, will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. Since tow bars and flat towing physically function differently than towing a trailer or carrying a bike rack, the Roadmaster High-Low was not designed for the latter application. If y

  • How Long is Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter RM-048-6 From Pin Hole to Back of Receiver Opening
  • I checked with my contact at Roadmaster, and the High-Low hitch adapter # RM-048-6 measures approximately 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the angle bracket, which would be the first point that would risk coming in contact with a bumper or other structure. The adapter measures 10.38 inches from the center of the pin hole on the shank to the center of the pin hole on the 2 inch receiver.

  • Recommendation for a Dual Purpose Ball Mount with a Rise for a Trailer Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier
  • What you can use is a dual receiver like # D210 which is designed for towing/cargo. This ball mount has a receiver with a 6 inch rise and a tongue weight capacity of 750 pounds. The receiver portion itself has a 350 lb capacity. You will need to make sure the hitch on your vehicle is rated for the load you want to carry. The Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, # RM-048-6, and other similar adapters are designed for use with tow bars only, so I do not recommend using them for this application.

  • Availability of a Dual hitch Receiver to Carry a Hitch Mount Bike Rack and Tow a Trailer
  • There are actually adapters made that offer 2 receivers so you will not have to weld a bike rack to the top of the receiver. We have numerous options like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, # RM-077-2. Or, you could use Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, # D210, which has a receiver on top and ball mount on the bottom. When using one of the above products remember that the top receiver cannot be used for towing and that the tongue weight includes the combined weight of everything attache

  • Recommendation to Raise Mobility Scooter Carrier to Avoid Bottoming Out with 2008 Dodge Caravan
  • I have 2 possible solutions for you. First, if the mobility chair footprint is less than 32 inches by 48 inches and weighs under 400 pounds, you could use a different carrier. Take a look at the Pro Series Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp, # PS10401-10402, for 2 inch trailer hitches. This carrier has a ramp to load the chair and it also has a shank with a 4 inch rise. This keeps the platform a little higher than a straight shank carrier. I have included a link to the installation de
