The RockyMounts Euro PitchFork is engineered to fit in the channels of what use to be strictly European-style roof racks found on Audi, BMW, Mini, Volkswagen and Volvo vehicles. Now these roof racks are more common, meaning that the Euro PitchFork attaches quickly and easily to your Euro-style slotted, Thule AeroBlade and Rapid Aero, Rhino-Rack Aero, and Whispbar roof-rack crossbars.
The Euro PitchFork is easy to install and provides a seamless look on your vehicle's slotted crossbars. Attach the rack's head by sliding its steel mounting plate into the crossbar's channel, inserting the nylon spacer under the head and then tightening down the bolts in the head. To attach the rear of the rack, slide the steel bracket into the channel on the bottom of the wheel tray and slide the steel plate into the crossbar's channel. Then use the included screw and washer to connect the bracket and plate together.
The Euro PitchFork's heavy-duty fork mount is designed to fit bikes with quick-release front wheels. Its disc brake cutout ensures that it fits both disc and standard brake systems. The standard-size (9-mm) quick-release skewer firmly grips your bike's front fork. The Euro PitchFork can be adapted to carry bikes with thru axles by using the DriveShaft fork adapter (RKY1081 - sold separately).
The Euro PitchFork has a ratcheting rear wheel strap that slides along the rack's wheel tray to adjust to different bike lengths, ensuring that your bike is completely fastened down.
Deter the theft of your RockyMounts Euro PitchFork and your mounted bicycle with RockyMounts lock cores (sold separately). The cores are keyed alike and allow you to lock the bike to the rack and the rack to your roof-rack crossbars using 2 cores. Lock cores are available in convenient packs of 2, 4, 6 and 8, allowing you to lock all your RockyMounts racks with the same key.

Today on our 20011 Chevrolet Malibu we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts Euro Pitchfork Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number RKY1103. Now before we can mount the carrier to the vehicle we'll need to remove the rubber strip on the T slot of our front bar. The Euro Pitchfork uses a block in the front that will slide into this slot. We'll slide our front block into the slot and position the bike rack where we want it. Then we'll take our Allen key and snug up those bolts. At the rear, we'll fit the clamp around our bar and use the included wing nuts to tighten it down.
We'll run back up and make sure that our block is still nice and tight. We want to make sure that our skewer at the front of the bike rack is open and the wheel strap at the rear of the carrier should also be open. We'll grab our bike and set the rear wheel into the tray. We'll fit our front fork down into the skewer and secure the bike first using the skewer. Then we'll move back and use the wheel strap to secure the rear of the bike.
With that done, our bike is all loaded up and we're ready to hit the road. That's it for our test fit of the RockyMounts Euro Pitchfork Roof Mounted Bike Carrier part number RKY1103 on our 20011 Chevrolet Malibu.
