Ask the Experts about this Rackem Trailer Cargo Control
Do you have a question about this Trailer Cargo Control?
- Will the # RA-16 Store Two Full Size Spares in a 1995 Wells Cargo 5 X 8 Enclosed Trailer
- Yes, If you use the top and bottom slots on the Spare Tire Carrier, item # RA-16, to hang your tires there will be enough room. You will also need the Spare Tire Carrier for E-Track, item # RA-16HST, for the second wheel and tire. I figured your tire height and it should be 24.62 inches. If we round that up to 25 inches then you would need 50 total inches to hang the tires. From my calculations a 14 inch wheel and tire combination will also work with the Spare Tire Rack for Enclosed Trailers.

- What Solutions are Available to Hang Spare Wheels and Tires for a Quad in an Enclosed Trailer
- The RackEm Spare Tire Rack, part RA-16, would be a great solution, provided the top clip can hang on the top edge of the wall. And provided the spare has a large enough pilot hole to fit over the hangers.
If there is not a place to hang the track from, you can use standard E-Track, part # E19146 that does not use a top hook.
You will also need extra spare carriers, part # RA-16HST to hang the wheel and tires from.

- Will Spare Tire Rack # RA-16 Hold Two 225/75-15 Tires in a 24ft Enclosed Trailer
- Your 225/75-15 tires should be slightly over 28-9/32 inches in diameter, so combined you would be looking at about 56-19/32 inches in order to clear both tires. I spoke with my contact at Rack'Em, and the # RA-16 spare tire rack has an overall length of 49 inches, but the E-track portion of the rack is only 25-1/2 inches long. Even with one tire in the top slot and the other in the bottom slot, you would still be a few inches short of fitting both tires on the rack.

- Minimum Installed Height for the RA-16 Spare Tire Rack for Enclosed Cargo Trailers
- The minimum height of the # RA-16 Spare Tire Rack is 48 3/4 inches from the inside of the hook that installs from the runner in your trailer. The hook portion of the rack is welded to the vertical E-Track portion of the spare tire carrier, so if you needed to adjust the height you would need to remove a portion of the bottom of the spare tire carrier. There are attachment holes in the E-Track portion of the rack at 22-1/2, 30-1/2, 38-1/2 and 46-1/2 inches, for securing the rack to the trailer wa
