This socket is designed to fit into a pre-existing cutout on GM truck models 2007-newer. Twist-in connector also serves as a replacement for OEM sockets on GM trucks 1999-newer that came with factory tow packages.

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Silverado we are going to be installing the replacement Twist-In 7-Way Connector, part number PK11916. If we look back here at the rear of the vehicle, on the upper side of the step bumper, you can see we have got a factory knock-out plug here. This is where our Twist-In Connector is going to plug into. We are actually going to remove this cover here we are actually going to put our new 7-way plug in its place. To remove the knock-out cover, we need to just depress this tab here on the bumper, and that is going to allow us to twist counter-clockwise. I am just going to depress the tab here and disconnect the two.
You can see there are seven connection points in there that are going to merge up with our new 7-pole plug that we are going to be plugging it into. Just take and plug the two together, and then we will just feed it back through the opening and twist it clockwise into place. And that will conclude the installation of wiring harness, part number 20047, on a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado.

Great fit on my 2007 Tahoe LTZ. The original broke when I backed the trailer in to it. It really does just twist in. I did need to pull out the right side of the hole in the bumper As it was pushed in slightly when I hit the trailer. Other than that, very easy. 15438

piece of cake without the installaton video to show how easy this is to install, I might have relegated the entire hitch install to a shop, just to avoid having to cut into the wiring harness and making a big mess of things. In 20 seconds I was able to utilize the factory wiring harness and leave a profesional looking result when I was done.
