Today we are going to take a look at the 24 by 48-3/4 Carpod walled cargo carrier by Carpod, part number M2200. The Carpod features 13.76 cubic feet of storage space with a 450 pound capacity. The Carpod cargo carrier is an enclosed cargo carrier. The independently frames sidewalls help keep cargo safe and contained during transport. The sidewalls will fold outward for easy cargo loading and unloading. When not in use, we can fold the sidewalls of the Carpod down so that the carrier lays flat. This will save space when it comes time to store the Carpod and it will also allow complete access to the trunk or tailgate of our vehicle. It is also covered by a 90 day limited warranty. 0:46

First we will mount the Carpod into our hitch. The Carpod is designed to be used with 2 inch receiver hitches. We will need a pin and clip, like part number PC3, to secure the Carpod in our hitch. And now we are ready to load our cargo. First we will pull the securing pins out of the walls and lower them down. Once lowered, we can easily load our cargo. Optionally available for our Carpod is a lockable lid, part number M2201. The lid can be locked to the Carpod along the front edge using a lock with a 3/8 inch or smaller diameter shackle. With the lid locked and secured in place, we do not have to worry about the cargo inside getting out while traveling down the road. It also helps keep our cargo secure when you are camping or pulled into the hotel for the night. The Carpod can also be purchased in a bundle package that includes the base cargo carrier as well as the lid. For the combo package, see part number M2200-2201.
