Guard against LED-related turn signal problems with this load-resistor kit. Simple, effective system builds resistance that corrects flash timing, thereby preventing the "hyperflash" phenomenon that occurs with LED indicators.

Features:

  • Fixes hyperflashing or burned-out bulb indicators on turn signals with LED lights
  • Has compact design for tight applications
  • Installs quickly and easily
  • Works with most import and domestic vehicles
  • Constructed of ceramic

Specs:

  • 6 Ohms
  • 50 Watts
  • Lifetime warranty

Please Note: One kit is required for each LED bulb used in turn signal applications.

Because LED bulbs have little resistance on their own, they create a "hyperflash" situation when used in turn signals. This fast flashing is similar to what your factory signal light does when the bulb is about to burn out. To prevent this phenomenon, install a load-resistor kit along with your new LEDs. This kit will build additional resistance in the line to correct the flash timing, resulting in a properly functioning indicator.

Putco LED Light Bulb Load-Resistor Kit Installation - 1995 Chevrolet CK Series Pickup

Video Transcript for Putco LED Light Bulb Load-Resistor Kit Installation - 1995 Chevrolet CK Series Pickup

All right, today on this 1995 Chevrolet CK series pickup were going to install part number p230004c from Putco. This is their LED light bulb load resistor kit. Now this trucks had the LED lights installed and we can see here how they are flashing at a high rate. Now to slow it down were going to install the resistors. This is very easy to do. Basically, what were going to do is find our turn signal circuit.

In this case well be working with the left turn. Well use a tester to check our wire for function. In this case its going to be a yellow wire. So well take our yellow wire and were going to connect it to a resistor. Well take our white wire and using the provided quick-splice well go ahead and make our connection.

Now on the other end of our resistor will be another white wire. Were going to take our white wire and were going to add a ring terminal so we can ground it to the frame. Well use a self-tapping screw to make that ground. Now to make our ground well be using part number fa1131822. We have our connections made.

Well go ahead and check out the light. We can see here that the flashing has slowed down. All right, now were done with our one side now were going to need to another of the same part number to do the turn signal on the other side, and well repeat the same process there. OK, and with that, thatll finish it for or install of part number p230004c from Putco, our LED resistor kit on our 1995 Chevrolet CK series pickup.

  • How Do I Install Load Resistors for the LED Lights on my 2007 Dodge 3500 Flatbed
  • You will wire a load resistor into the wiring of each light socket that has an LED bulb and flashes. So basically you will need to wire a load resistor into any bulb that blinks or has a dual intensity feature that lights up when the brakes, blinkers, or emergency flashers are operated. To do this correctly, you will need to wire the load resistor on the positive wire and then either ground it to the ground wire of the bulb, or to a good frame ground. You will need to do this for all of the L

  • Lights Going Dim when Running Lights are Turned On After Adding an Incandescent Light for Resistance
  • Adding an extra incandescent light is an acceptable solution for issues encountered when LED lights are added to a vehicle. The additional light adds resistance, as you have noted, to eliminate turn signal problems, much like the LED load resistor, # P230004C, that you referred to. If your vehicle is equipped with LED lights from the factory there should no need for an additional light or a load resistor. You may have a ground issue since the signal and brake lights are dim when the runnin
