The wheel chock looks good but I'm disappointed with the bolts, it comes with lag bolts that screws into the wood floor and I'm not going to trust my Harley with that hook up, I will try to rig a way to put a washer below the floor, if that won't work I'll just have to reorder chocks of better quality. 30312

Ask the Experts about this Phoenix USA Trailer Cargo Control

  • Securing a Motorcycle to a Trailer for Transport
  • I would probably use the Low Profile Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock, item # MWCB, along with two packs, four, Premium 6 foot x 2 inch Spring Clamp Tie Downs with Strap Trap by Master Lock, item # 3065Dat. These tie downs have a 833 pound safe load limit. A motorcycle on a trailer is subject to much more severe bouncing and jarring than one tied down in the rear of a truck, so a better tie down system is required. If you need tie down points on the trailer you could use Trailer D-Ring Tie

  • Will the Motorcycle Wheel Chock Work with the Front Tire on a 2006 Harley Sportster 883
  • Yes, the Low Profile Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock, item # MWCB, will work for both your 2006 Harley Sportster 883, and your 2009 Honda Rebel. You will need to make sure that the bikes are secured with tie downs and the wheel chock will keep the bike from tipping or tilting to either side while being hauled. When you tie the bikes down make sure and put pressure forward into the front of the wheel chock. I would recommend using the 5K Trailer Axle Strap with Rings, item # 58506, and the 6

  • Do Fasteners On Wheel Chock, # MWCB, Need A Special Tool And Are Extra Fasteners Available
  • On the Motorcycle Wheel Chock, # MWCB, no special tool is needed to install the anchors to the wooden trailer floor, just a 5/16 inch Allen wrench. The anchors will be recessed into the floor, but the screws that the wheel chock attaches to are above the floor. To install, you will use the wheel chock as a template to mark where you want the holes to be drilled on the trailer floor. Then, you will drill three holes with a 7/16 inch drill bit. After the holes are drilled then you can insert th

  • Options for Securing Motorcyle to Trailer
  • The Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock, part # MWCB would be an excellent choice for securing the motorcycle to the trailer. The Wheel Chock includes mounting hardware appropriate for a wood trailer floor. Using something like the Motorcycle Assist Straps, part # 06303 along with ratchet straps like part # 34413 would work well for you. If you wanted to permanently mount the ratchet straps to the trailer, a bolt-on kit is offered part # EM31319.

  • Will the Tires on a 1997 Harley Davidson Fatboy Fit the Low Profile Motorcycle Wheel Chock
  • From what I was able to find it looks like the tire size on a stock 1997 Harley Fatboy is a 130/90-16. This makes it about 5-1/8 inches wide. The Low Profile Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock, # MWCB accepts tires up to 6-1/2 inches wide. In metric tire sizes, that would be a about a 165 but no larger.
