The two stainless steel, perforated cores in this muffler intersect in the middle, creating a suction effect. Whereas most mufflers push gases through the exhaust system, Tru-X mufflers pull them through using suction. This type of exhaust flow increases mid-range horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency. All these factors lead to improved engine performance.

The "X"-shaped intersection that creates the suction effect also reduces loud exhaust noise. The resulting tone is a smooth, deep growl, specific to MagnaFlow.

• I spoke with my contact at MagnaFlow and he recommended Muffler # MF12599 (if you are running 3 inch piping). He also stated that because of the size of the engine, you would also need to use a smaller, round muffler as a resonator, # MF14419 for 3 inch piping. If you are using different size piping, you would want to use a muffler that measures 5 x 11 x 22 with a resonator that measures 5 x 8 x 14.
