I was looking for an LED license plate light that put out lots of light and didnt look flimsy. I liked the looks of this light on the web page, and it looked as good when I pulled it out of the box. Its listed as a step light, but so I figured it would be plenty bright for a license plate. The wires are decent size considering the low current it pulls. Ive seen reviews on other LED lights that said the wires were so small that you couldnt even strip them back without breaking them. I dont have a picture at night, but look how bright it is even during the daylight picture I attached. By the way, this shows 12/24 volts. I tested it with a 6 volt flashlight battery, and it works off that as well. Great light - I highly recommend it.77139

• What is the Length of Wire that Comes from the LED Step/Area Light
  
• I pulled a LED Step/Area Light # ILL85CB from our warehouse to measure the wire that comes from the assembly and found that the portion that has the black cover over the wires measures 41 inches and the exposed white and black wires measure an additional 5 inches. I shot a video of me measuring the wire for you to check out also.

• Is the Optronics LED Step/Area Light # ILL85CB Waterproof
  
• The LED Step/Area Light, # ILL85CB, includes a foam gasket for a weathertight seal to protect it from the elements. You would not want to submerge the light underwater. In order for something to be considered waterproof, it has to be able to be submerged under water for a certain amount of time and a certain depth and remain functional. You will also need to make sure that the wire connections are sealed by using shrink tubing or some liquid electrical tape, # SWC50122.
