- Because the 2008 Ford F150 with the factory wiring harness and factory 4 pole trailer connector is not wired for a 7-Way trailer connector you will need to use the Hopkins Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185.
It retains the 4 way in the event that you would need it in the future, and it also includes the mounting bracket. The 4 pole on the adapter would plug into your existing 4 way and there are four extra wires to be wired.
