Just installed the 7-way molded 3' trailer connector on an older Wells Cargo Inline Snowmobile Trailer and it fit perfectly. The molded end is going to work great keeping out the salty mist from our Wisconsin highways. The wire colors don't match trailor wiring standards, but the color key code on the web site was extremely helpful. With there fast and prompt shipping, I will be using etrailer.com from now on. Thanx 27800

Quality is good and price is right, but the fact that the color coding of the wires does not match the trailer industry standard is annoying at the least, and could be frustrating and cause wiring errors at the worst. They should offer it with industry standard color coding.14287

Good quality, quick shipping. Only problem is it should be 4' long. that would place the splice in a more secure part of the frame. 13339

Could be longer... This is a nice cord, but they should discontinue this cord and sell a five foot along with their 8 foot cord. The 36" TOTAL lenght is too short for most applications once you figure in that the vehicle socket is about a foot from the trailer ball and a sagging loop for slack.. I just added two foot of wire to it where it won't be flexing and it worked great.3776

Works great! This connector was easy to wire in and works perfectly. Mine was a little short of 3 feet so keep this in mind if you need the entire length to fit.2385

Heavy molded cord assembly is far superior to take apart universal end you can get. Expect this to last along time. Looks better than split loom assembly trailer cam with from factory.29695

Made nicely perfect length for my trailer. The trailer I'm using it on is only a 2 place enclosed snowmobile trailer that comes with your standard 4 flat I was tired of using adapters so I changed to this plug.28317

Great connector, Holds up to years of daily use. Always had problems with the wire it yourself type connectors holding up to commercial use, After a few months the wires would get ripped out of them. We have standardized all of our company's (14) trailers to this seven way flat connector. It is the most reliable and secure one I have found.26992

Great quality product, however 3FT is probably too short for many applications. I should have measured before I ordered, but 3FT was too short to reach my junction box while leaving enough slack. 26657

Very nice connector assembly. Heavy duty with enough wire to enable good connections. Love the fact it's molded since connections inside the connectors have always been problematic for me.14812

You get exactly what is pictured. The 12v power and Ground (black and white) are 10 gauge, the "Aux" (which is red on this harness and purple on the ETBC7 vehicle wiring kit) is 12 gauge, and the other 4 wires are 14 gauge. The 3' length is measured from the face of the plug to the stripped ends of the seperated wires.11544

First, I was absolutely amazed at how fast my Trailer Wire Connector arrived. This is indicative of the outstanding service rendered by etrailer.com. The Trailer Wire Connector is of the highest quality. I searched for some type of alternative to the poorly made plastic connectors that most places sell and was very pleased to find the high quality molded connector sold by etrailer.com. 9173

7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Conn Unit looks to be well built and made to last. Haven't installed it yet but with the instructions it will be rather easy. The unit went out fast but it took about a week to get here. That is my only gripe. 1524

  • Charging a Tolling Motor when Towing a Boat with a 2005 Chevy Silverado
  • Given that you currently have a 7-way on your truck, the easiest adjustments to make to your trailer connector would be to change the plug to a 7-way blade, and use the power lead of the new trailer connector to charge your battery. Use half of the wires to splice into the wires on your 4-way, ground the extra wire with the white ground, and run the power lead to the battery you wish to charge. You will need trailer connector part # H20042. If you already have the wiring to complete a 7-way o

  • Does Hopkins 7-Way Trailer Connector Have a Wire for Reverse Lights
  • Yes, the yellow wire is labeled as auxiliary in the chart on the product page. This wire goes to the center pin which on your Dodge Ram would be the reverse lights. I assume you need this to activate the back-up solenoid for a reverse lock-out so the brakes do not engage when backing up.

  • Wiring In the Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector, # H20042
  • I will be glad to help you out with wiring up your trailer. To start, I will mention the electric brake wiring. There are 2 wires on the brake assemblies coming from the magnets. One will be ground and should be connected to a bare metal surface on the trailer frame, near the magnet. If the ground is too far away, it may not work properly. The other wire will connect to the blue wire on harness # H20042. This will provide the power to the brakes. The White wire is the ground and it does attac
