Installation Details
Includes all parts necessary to install an electric trailer brake controller in your vehicle.
Each kit includes:
- 25' of duplex wire in an abrasion resistant cover
- Pre-wired 6 and 4 way connector with mounting bracket
- 6-Way connector plugs into existing 4-way trailer connector on vehicle
- Heavy duty breakers
- (1) 20 amp, (1) 30 amp, (1) 40 amp (for hot lead)
- Ring connectors for battery and breaker hook-up
- Circuit tester
- Self-tapping screws
- Tie straps
NOTE: The blue wire goes to the center pin, the red wire goes to the outside pin. The 6 pole trailer connector can have the brakes or 12v power supply in either spot.
No 4-pole Connector: If your vehicle does not already have a flat 4-Pole installed, the T-One Fitguide can be used to find the easy to install connector made specific for your vehicle.

- You can use part # 37175 to adapt your existing 4-pole to a 6-way, which will provide lighting functions only to your trailer. Plug the adapter into the 4-pole, and attach the white wire with the ring terminal to the tow vehicle frame or chassis.
I would urge you to go ahead do a full install including the brake controller. You might find that the small dump trailer is heavier than you think, and having the trailer brakes active would be much safer for you and other motorists around you.

- Since your trailer has a 6-Way connector installed you most likely have one of 3 wiring situations on your trailer. The first, and most likely, is that your trailer has electric brakes and a power wire to maintain a battery for auxiliary functions. The second is that you have the same power wire and backup lights at the rear of the trailer. The third, and least likely but possible, is that your trailer has hydraulic surge brakes and a coupler with electric backup lockout.
