This is a self-locking aluminum ball mount from Diversi-Tech, part number DTLBM8200. Diversi-Tech ball mounts are made from billet aluminum. It starts as a solid block of aluminum and is machined into the ball mount. This ball mount has a gross trailer weight capacity of 14,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 2,000 lbs. Diversi-Tech builds in spring-loaded, stainless steel, anti-rattle balls. These balls help take out some of the rattle, that the ball mount makes inside the hitch. This is also their self-locking model, that does not require the use of a hitch pin. Instead, the pin and lock is built into the ball mount, the pin is extended right now and it will grab the pin holes on your hitch. To unlock and remove the ball mount, use the barrel key on the front and the pins are retracted, allowing you to remove the ball mount from your vehicle. Place the ball mount back inside the hitch, turn the key and the pin pops back out. This is a great security feature, as there is nothing hanging outside of the hitch for potential thieves to cut, and it also does not require you to remember your hitch pin or lock.
