This is the Hasp and Hatch Puck-Style Guard Lock from Diversi-Tech, part number DT39002. The puck style lock is great because it completely covers your hatch and prevents thieves from finding anything to cut. It is perfect for the cam door lock found on many enclosed cargo trailers and Diversi-Tech guarantees this lock to be bolt cutter proof. To use the lock, the key into the lock cylinder, turn the key and the pin out of the way. Slip it over your hatch, push the lock back into place, turn the key, and you are ready to go. Here is a typical hasp and hatch that you might use this lock on. It fits over the hatch, and locks into place and there is nothing for a burglar to cut. Can the DiversiTech Hasp and Hatch Puck-Style Lock Be Keyed-Alike
The DiversiTech Hasp and Hatch Puck-Style lock, part # DT39002, cannot be keyed alike, but the Master Lock Hidden Shackle Padlock, part # 970DPF, can be keyed-alike. I have always used Master Lock for my padlocks, but DiversiTech makes great products too. If the keyed-alike feature is needed, choose the Master Lock. If the keyed-alike feature is not needed and the DiversiTech fits better, I would choose the DiversiTech.

Comparison of the Diversi-Tech Puck-Style Guard Lock and the Master Lock Hidden Shackle Padlock
The differences between the Diversi-Tech Hasp and Hatch Puck-Style Guard Lock, item # DT39002, and the Master Lock Hidden Shackle Padlock, item # 970DPF, are small. Both are quality products. The biggest difference, security wise, is that the Diversi-Tech lock has a hasp that is 3/16 inch larger in diameter than the Master Lock padlock, and the Diversi-Tech lock has a slightly larger opening for a hasp to fit into. Recommendation for a Pad Lock that Will Accept 1/2 Inch Diameter U-bolt
I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Hasp and Hatch Lock, # DT39002, to measure it. This lock will accept a 1/2 inch diameter u-bolt, but the overall width of the bolt cannot exceed 1-11/16 inches. Something like a Disc Padlock, # DT40124, may be a better option. We also have the Master Lock Shrouded Padlock, # 37DAT, that may work for your application.

Welding Diversi-Tech Puck Lock Part # DT39002 In Place
I spoke with one of our friends in the Tech Services Department at Diversi-Tech, who tells me it is possible to weld their puck lock, part # DT39002 in place. He went on to say that the puck itself is chrome plated steel. The plating would need to be ground off of the surfaces to be welded. The welds themselves should be done slowly, in a stitch pattern so that the puck did not heat up too much.
