Worm Gear, Regular Drum Handle Drive - 1,500 lb

Applications requiring safe, controlled movement of loads need the Dutton-Lainson worm gear winch. The reel automatically stops turning whenever cranking is stopped. There is no free wheel mode, no special mechanism required to stop gear movement and they do not require a minimum load for operation.

Capacity: 1,500 lbs
- Capacity is based on direct line pull on the first layer of line on the drum. Capacity is reduced as line builds up on the drum
Laminated high carbon steel gears are heat treated for longer life
Heavy gauge embossed steel base for extra strength
Permanently lubricated bearings on drive shaft are maintenance free

excellent product I bought this worm gear winch to use on a ham radio crank-up tower. It works great using only two fingers. I would reccommend this winch to anyone . It is well built and works great under a load with only two fingers!Well worth the money.3298

Even though it is more winch than I really needed, I can highly recommend this unit. In the application I am using them, they needed to be mounted to a wall to raise and lower some heavy lighting units so the worm gear really makes that convenient. As over-built as this is they should last for many years. I can also highly recommend the people at etrailor.com. The product was shipped the next day (I placed the order late at night) and they have been very helpful in keeping me informed on the arrival of the units that were backordered. Thanks guys!31370
