With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

  • Transmission Cooler Options and Installation for a 2009 Chevy Equinox Pulling a 2,800 Pound Trailer
  • I am not sure what, if any, benefit new cooler lines would offer. But the right transmission cooler will do the trick. If your 2009 Chevy Equinox has the 3.4 liter engine, we have several options. I recommend the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D12901. This has the simplest, tube fin design. It is fairly small so it should be easy to find the best mounting point. There are essentially three places to mount a transmission cooler. The best place is between the grille and AC condenser core. • Do Inlet And Outlet Ports Need To Be Mounted In A Particular Direction On Derale Cooler, # D13950
  • The ports on the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, # D13950, do not need to be mounted in any particular direction. The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter. You will want to choose the inlet or outlet port location by what will make your installation easier. Since this cooler comes with a fan-mounted heat exchanger you can mount the exchanger wherever you want because the fan will provide optimum airflow.

  • Can a Remote Transmission Cooler be Used in Place of a Factory Cooler on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
  • Basically, an aftermarket transmission cooler is used as a supplemental system and not a primary unit. But, when a leak like what you are describing does happen, the options are to bypass the factory cooler and plug the radiator so it does not continue to leak, or replace the radiator. You could use the Derale Remote Cooler, # D13950, that you have selected. You would need to plug the transmission line inlet and outlet, so the OEM trans cooler could fill with fluid without leaking out. Draini
