Video Transcript for Transmission Cooler Installation - 2008 Jeep Liberty

Today, on this 2008 Jeep Liberty were going to install part number D13053 from Derale, their transmission cooler. Our first step to installing it is we have to remove the grill so theres more working room to install the cooler. Well remove a variety of fasteners, and then we can go ahead and remove the grill. Well go ahead and add the hoses to our transmission cooler now. Well use a little bit of transmission fluid to lubricate the bar fitting as we install our lines. Now transmission cooler is going to sit a little bit farther away from our connection than normal, so were actually going to add a second length of hose to it, now the part number HH41102.

Now at this point we can go ahead and start adding the transmission cooler on top of the existing coolers in the vehicle. Well take the pads, attach it to the cooler. Then, well hold it up to your existing coolers on the vehicle, and then run the rods all the way through the cooler to the other side. You may have to do a few test fits to make sure the rods go all the way through to the other side and dont interfere with the fan on the inside. Ok, with the rods all installed we can go ahead and install the fastener on the other side.

Basically, it works just like a zip tie. It just snaps on the end of the rod and push it all the way down, then we cut off the excess. With the cooler installed, well go ahead and make sure our hoses are ran the way we want them. Make sure theyre not touching anything that could be sharp, and well route them out for our connection point at the transmission line into the vehicle. Ok, Well go ahead and install the instant adapter on one line, and were going to have to use another one for the other side.

Thats going to be part number D13004. Well need some extra hose clamps too. That will be part number D13008. Well place that on there with the hose clamp and secure it. Then, well take the cold side of the transmission line and well cut that in half and add the other half of the adapter into it and hose clamp it in place as well.

Well do that with both halves of the lines. Now to the find cool side of a radiator lines on the vehicle, we ran the engine for a few minutes and then felt the lines. Whichever side was colder is the one were going to use. Ok, with all our hose connections made well go ahead and take a few moments, secure the lines so theyre safe and out of the way. Next, well go ahead and turn on the engine. Well let it warm up. well check for leaks, and then add fluid as necessary. At this point, we can go ahead and re-install the grill. With that, thatll finish it for install part number D13503 from Durale on our 2008 Jeep Liberty.y.
