I replaced the existing coupler on my 20' 14,0000# GVW flatbed trailer with this coupler. What a difference! I think it would be conservative to say that making this change has cut the jarring from the trailer to the tow vehicle easily in half. After buying the first one of these for my own use I ordered a second one for a conversion to a customer's trailer. What a simple fix for a very annoying problem! 31269
Received my goosneck coupler fast.Communication from seller is outstanding, cept me informed ou what was going on,i like that.Have not yet installed the coupler but it looks very promising.Im trying to stop the bouncing and shaking too much.Just wish there was a better way to open and close the latch but this is not bad at all.Beats climbing in the truck everytime. He stated that with the Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler, # CG, you can expect a reduction of 50 percent in shaking and other related issues. view full answer...
I called the supplier (Convert-A-Ball) and they said the Convert-A-Ball Trailer Coupler, # CG, can be welded, but recommended it be welded by a experienced welding shop.
They also mentioned it would have to be welded at least 12 inches up from the bottom and cooled immediately because there is polyurethane cushions on the inside of the coupler which could be affected by the heat buildup when welding. view full answer...
I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler, # CG, and a Gooseneck Trailer Lock, # EZTL50-40D (this is the only Blaylock gooseneck coupler lock we carry, so it was the only model I could test). The lock does fit on Gooseneck Coupler, # CG. If you look at the bottom of the CG coupler, you will notice that it has a rectangular part. The lock fits on lengthwise or widthwise depending on how you might need to attach the lock.

The Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler, part # CG, will slide up in the 4 inch inner diameter tube that is on the trailer. It can be adjusted for height by using the set screws on the gooseneck trailer tube.
If your gooseneck needs the coupler with the holes along the tube, for installing the safety pin, you will need the Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler, part # CGH. This is the same coupler as the part # CG, but it has holes that are drilled int view full answer...
