- Because the inner diameter of the Replacement Collar for Convert-A-Ball Multi-Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter, # C5G-RC, is smaller than the outer diameter of the king pin, it will not be able to fit around the king pin. There is a 1/8 inch difference. If welded to the king pin, there would only be enough space for a 1/16 inch weld all around to attach the collar to the king pin. You would also need to be skillful in welding cast steel.
