The Outer container was in great shape, but the inner box for the Turbo net was thrashed. I turns out the 2000 Ford F25 fitting needed another set of holes to get a good fit. The pre-drilled holes were either to loose or to tight to reach. The nuts were missing for the retainer bolts . The drill bit sizes given in the instructions for the plastic retention rods seem to be oversized as the inserts are not tightly retained. Once installed the Turbo net is quickly opened and stays out of the way of loading the bed, or if you need to climb up on the bumper steps it can lay in the bed. The tubing for the top seems loose and causes the net to droop a bit. This is a thrifty solution to the fifth wheel issue.
The Turbo net has been tested at 90 MPH (just for a quick time) :)15065

The tailgate was better than I expected. It is heavy duty and easy to remove and put on. I pull a horse trailer with a long bed Ford. When I back up to hook up the trailer I have about 6 inches between the stock tailgate and the trailer with the tailgate down. This tailgate makes it a cinch to hook up the trailer. I just remove it at the top and lay it in the bed. Once I get the trailer connections made just put the net back up. It looks good and the shipping was really fast.

Yes, the # 9502200 Fifth Wheel Tailgate will fit your 1998 F-150 Super Crew. Measurements on the 9502200, Fifth Wheel Tailgate for Ford are, Overall width 62 to 64-1/2 inches, inside width from latch plate to latch plate is and overall height at bed rails is 19 inches. With these measurements you should be able to check your truck to be sure the tailgate will fit. I have also included a link to the 5th wheel tailgate options for you truck.

This tailgate net is a universal fit item and fits most newer pickups, from 1999 to the present. That being said, you will need to measure your bed width. For the Turbo Net to work, your bed measurement will need to be between 62 and 64.5 inches.

The installation for this is very easy. You will need to drill a 1/4-inch hole from the top edge of your tailgate on both sides, then enlarge them to 3/8-inch and install the included plug. You then line up the bottom pole along the sides and drill two more 1/4-inch holes and enlarge them to 3/8-inch and install the bottom plugs. Make sure the quick release pins and bolts are securely in place before operating your vehicle.

I spoke with my contact at Highland to see if they have tested it on an F-150 and they have not. The tailgate net measures 62 to 64-1/2 inches, so if the width of your tail gate is in this range, it should fit just fine.
If you do not have a fifth wheel hitch, I would suggest using part # 9501500. It measures from 60-1/4 inches to 65 inches so it will fit a great range of trucks. view full answer...
The Tailgate Net, part # 950220 is essentially a three piece design. The top tube and the bottom tube attach to plugs that are inserted into drilled holes into the jamb for the tailgate. The poles slide into the vinyl net portion of the tailgate.
The top and bottom tube are separate parts.
