Video Transcript for Highland Heavy Duty Truck Cargo Net Review

Today we'll be going over the Highland Heavy Duty Adjustable Truck Cargo Net, part number 95006. This truck bed cargo net allows you to quickly and conveniently secure luggage and cargo in the bed of your truck. The way that this net is designed is it's designed to fit short beds and long beds. The first thing we'll need to do is just install these little bungees here on the eyelets of the net. We'll go over how to do that. You can see these silver rings here at the end of the net which we're going to install this bungee and hook. The first thing we need to do is simply just remove the bungee from the hook. You can see there's a ball secured on one end and then an open end here.

Basically we're going to insert the open end into that hole and you can see the ball will stop once it gets to that little eyelet. Stick the end of the bungee back through the hook and then back around and out through this hole. Now you can see these teeth that are inside of that hook and when it's pulled tight, those teeth are actually going to eat into that bungee and keep it nice and tight. Another neat thing about this is depending on the width of your truck bed, maybe you have a mid-size truck or a full size truck, you can actually adjust the length of the bungee just to accommodate those different truck bed widths. Now we'll just go ahead and secure the remaining 3 clamps. Depending on what size truck bed you have, whether you have a short bed or a long bed, will depend on where you need to place the hooks.

You can see there's basically 3 sections of this net: front, middle, and the rear. Today we have a pick-up truck with a short bed so we're not going to be using the last 2 of the hooks. We're just going to be using the front 2 sections. Depending on where you have attachment points located in your pickup truck, will depend on working or where you need or want to place the other 2 remaining hooks. I'm just going to leave these out for the time being, then we can decide where we want to use them when the net is in the truck. This net has a nice strong, durable nylon woven netting to help secure all of your luggage and gear in your pickup truck and then the thicker, more durable outside straps is going to help contain everything, also where the hooks attach to. Now one thing that's really unique about this strap is that the way that it actually secures your gear in the bed of your truck is that it uses these little buckle straps.

You can see this thick, black line here and you can see this little buckle. Actually how this works is you insert a strap into the buckle then pull it tight and that's actually what's going to cinch or clench the net around all of your gear. You can see there are 4 of those straps down the length of the net basically allowing you to really secure your gear well in the bed of your truck. This material is really nice because it does withstand all types of environments, whether it's from the harsh heat and sun, all the way down to frigid temperatures and snow and sleet. Now we'll just go ahead and throw the net up over our gear. You can see we've got some luggage all loaded up for our trip. Now when you place the net in the bed of your truck, kind of over your gear, you want to make sure that the larger section of the net, like we talked about earlier there's 4 sections, you want to make sure the larger section is up at the top because that back section allows you to switch it up, whether you have that 8-foot bed, 6-foot bed, 5 1/2 foot-bed. We'll just go ahead and start at the front and basically just get the 4 corner straps in place and depending on how the tension is, we may need to tighten down the bungees just a tad. Now that we've got all our straps in place, basically I'm just going to make some adjustments because I want this to be a little bit tighter than what it is.

Now that we've got all the clamps in place at the attachment points of our truck, now what I'm going to do is I'm going to insert this strap into that buckle which is going to allow me to tighten it down to fully secure my gear. So I'm going to take the end of the strap and insert it into one end of the buckle and I'll put it back through and we can just pull it tight. See then, when I start to pull down on the strap, then that starts to get tighter, help me secure my gear a little bit better. Now that we've got all of our gear secured and our strap tightened down, that will complete today's review of the Highland Adjustable Heavy Duty Truck Cargo Net, part number 95006. .
