Tekonsha introduces Prodigy, one of the most advanced and intelligent approaches to trailer brake controls. Prodigy, requiring no manual leveling, is a technological breakthrough among inertia-activated brake controls. Equipped with a self-adjusting sensing device similar to the one used in guided-missile technology to allow for easy, flexible installation - from nearly horizontal to nearly vertical - the Tekonsha Prodigy constantly adjusts itself to the position of the tow vehicle.

Installation:

The vehicle specific adapter has one end that plugs into the back of the brake controller while the other end plugs into the port located under the dash.
Note: If your vehicle has a factory installed hitch and 7-way connector, then all of the wires for the brake controller have already been run. If not, additional parts will be required to complete the installation of the brake controller.

• The connection point for the brake controller should be located under the dash just above where where your right leg would be if you were behind the wheel. I have an installation video that shows the location of the connector. The video shows an install on a 2007 Expedition, but the procedure would be similar on your 2004 model.
