Today we are going to be installing hitch part number 90170 from Hidden Hitch on a 2007 Kia Amanti. We are underneath the vehicle, and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. The center attaching point will be here on the tow loop, and we are going to be using the U-bolt over that position to hold the hitch in the center. And then over here on the outboard side of the frame rail, you can see we have got an existing weld nut on both the drivers and passengers side. That will provide our frame attaching points for the hitch as well. We are going to go ahead and support the center exhaust tube before removing the hangers, because once they are lowered, they may let the exhaust too much, which could possibly damage it. I am just going to take a basic tow strap and just hook it around the main cross tube here, just to give it that extra support. And when we remove the hangers, again we just want to go ahead and spray them down first with a spray lubricant, like a WD-40, and pull the rubber away from the hanger. And then next I am just going to go ahead and remove the hangers off of the frame. Again, this is just going to give us more room to get the hitch up into position.

OK, and with the exhaust brackets removed, we can go ahead and remove the appearance panel, but it will be put up back into place once the hitch is put into position. OK, with all the brackets and everything removed, we can go ahead and put the hitch up into position. We are going to start from the inboard side and work the arms up and around to the outboard side holes. And we are going to start by loosely installing the hitch to the tow loop using the U-bolt that is provided in the installation kit. And you can see I have just got it loosely installed to the tow hook here, and we are going to go ahead and make our connections to the weld nuts in the side of the frame. Before we go ahead and torque them down, I want to make sure I put my appearance panel back up first, because once the bolts are torqued down, this will not go back up around the hitch.

OK, now that I have got all the fasteners up into place, we can go ahead and torque our hitch down now. You want to check with your directions to verify the appropriate torque rating for each individual bolt. I am going to start by torquing down the U-bolt fasteners first, and then we will come back and torque the bolts on the side of the frame. You want to make sure as well that when you tighten the U-bolt that you tighten it down evenly you want an even amount of threads to be coming through. And then lastly I am going to go ahead and torque the bolts on the side of the frame.

OK, and with all the bolts torqued down, we just want to put our exhaust back up. We are going to start by putting the exhaust brackets back onto the frame on both sides of the vehicle. We have to do that on both sides of the vehicle. OK, and then we just want to put the exhaust back on its hangers after that. We will make sure we get the ones in the front and the rear. And with the exhaust back up into place, our installation is complete. And this will conclude the installation of part number 90170 on a 2007 Kia Amanti.
