Today on this 2010 Chevrolet Equinox we are going to install part number 90145 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 36408 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we need to do on our Chevrolet Equinox is remove this little knockout on the bottom of the bumper, this little fascia. Take this off to give us room to put the hitch into place. Looking underneath the passenger side of the vehicle, these are the two holes that we are going to attach the hitch to. 00:39
It is a good idea to spray them down a little with some lubricant and get some of the dust and grime out of there. Give it a test fit with your bolts first. Make sure they thread in and out okay. If they have some junk in there you can use a nylon tube brush to help clean out the threads too. This brush is part number 814092. We will clean out all of the bolt holes that we have on the vehicle, these two on the side and plus the two on the bumper. 01:09
At this point we can start installing the hitch on to the vehicle and it is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help hold it up so make sure the center tab goes up underneath the bumper around the plastic and then we will put the hitch in position and just get one of the bolts started to hold it up there. Leaving the hitch loose we will work the other bolts into place. We are just going to get them started. Leave them loose and we are going to do that on both sides of the vehicle. With the hitch still loose so we can move it around we will install the bolts that go into the bumper structure. 01:42
Now that we have got all of our bolts started we can snug them down and then torque them down as specified in the instructions. When you tighten the center bolts up you can see how the hitch will pull itself into position. You can see with the hitch installed how the bumper fascia we had to take off has to stay off so there is room for the hitch. We have got the vehicle off the ramp, now we will give you a couple of hitch measurements to use on certain hitch accessories. From the top of the receiver tube down to the ground is 14-1/ 2 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole out to the edge of the bumper is going to be 5-1/ 2 inches. With that, that already finishes our install of part number 90145 from Hidden Hitch.

On the 2011 Equinox you do not have to fish any nuts or washers the nuts are all welded on the inside of the frame. if you are working alone get some blocking or a small jack to hold the hitch in place wwhile you thread all the bolts loosley, after they are all in place tighten to the specificationsprovide with the hitch. total install took 20 minutes everything fit perfectly .31102

Nice hitch and seems easy to put on ('07 Pontiac Torrent). A warning though - those nice holes in the frame w/ welded nuts can get pretty rusted in 3-4 years. I've been working on cleaning them out for over a week now. And the hitch doesn't come with the tube brush that is used in the instructions (not that it would help - I've ruined 4 brushes already). I'd recommend buying the proper bolt and testing out the threads on the frame before purchase. Otherwise, the hitch fits nicely and was received very shortly after purchase.21460

The videos were great in helping us to install the hitch. However, the bolts that were sent with the product were too long and had to be replaced to get the hitch put on securely. The box the unit came in was also destroyed in shipping. The product was not damaged but could have been easily. Overall, the hitch looks great and works, I would purchase it again.20075

The hitch did not fit perfectly. I had to hammer the ends of the brackets to fit over the frame rails of the cold. After doing that, the hitch fit fine and bolts went in and hitch was secured. Some of the paint was also chipping off the hitch upon delivery. Overall, the function of the hitch will not be affected. Hidden Hitch is a well respected brand, and when I do tow with this hitch, i expect it to do its job, worry free.8101

Easy to install, fits great. This is my third Hidden Hitch, all have fit as advertised. Etrailers prices are great and the hitch only took a few days to get here. 2644

Great Product; Great Value We've made three 800 mile round trips with this and it's performed exceptionally well. Even when empty it remains pretty quiet on the road. Thank you!1389

Can't install per directions A nice hitch that fit into place fine, but it is impossible to install per the provided directions and the pull wire provided. The pull wire was too short and too flimsy to even feed the heavy bolt - resulting in the bolt getting lost inside the bumper. This was frustrating to say the least. I was able to complete the job using an electrician's fish tape. The electrical hookup was easy, but the hitch was a real pain!398

Nice looking hitch 2007 Saturn Vue. I could use longer bolts for the 2 center spots where the bolts are fed through the frame. The feed wires should be 12" longer and need two because the first one gets damaged doing the first bolt. Too bad Saturn doesn't have threaded holes in the frame like they do for the ends. Good paint job by Hidden Hitch and would buy it again.185
