Today on this 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 series we're gonna install part number 75521 from Draw-tite. This will also apply to part number 87430 from hidden hitch. Alright now this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the truck. Next, we'll give you some measurements that will help you out selecting some accessories. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground on this truck, its going to be 21 inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper is going to be 2 and 3/8 inches. Now we'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed.
Okay first thing we gonna do is remove this bumper bolt right here. We're gonna remove that one and we're gonna install hardware it needs 2 holes, here and here. We're looking at the passenger side its going to be identical to the driver side. So thats it for the frame, now we'll move up to the bumper. There is 2 holes in the bumper that will be used as attachments here, the 2 threaded holes.
We're gonna start by installing the hardware in the frame, we'll be using this block and the carriage bolt, just select this on the inside drop it free. We're down for now in the passenger side lets go over to the driver side and repeat the same process. This point we can go ahead and install the hitch on the bolt we just installed. You definitely wanna get an extra set of hands to help do this. Now we're gonna install our main fasteners at the bumper and at the end of the frame rail, starting with the bumper, we'll push the hitch up into position meet them with this plastic alloy, this one you're gonna install loose so that you can move the hitch around and we'll try to bolt in, and now we have 2 more bolts, they replace the factory bumper bolts.
Until all our hardawre installed you can go ahead and snug the bolts down and then we'll torque them down as specified in the instructions. Okay a few easy steps our hitch is already installed for part number 75521 from Draw-tite.

Hidden Hitch 2007 Silverado Customer service was excellent. Product packaging was impressive. Installation was simple. Fit was perfect. Installation time from opening the package to putting away the tools was 20 minutes. Looks great on the truck. Just about all you see is the receiver tube.4606

great product hitch arrived in five days. only problem during install was that the blocks would not catch on frame rail (2008 gmc 1500) altogether took about 45 mins to finish. make sure you have an extension for ratchet. 1638

Great Product This was the first time I've installed a hitch it was very easy to install. Good fit for my truck. The only thing is that it fits very snug on the bumper which might not be a drawback for everyone. Overall very satisfied.797

I received the hidden trailer hitch for my 08' GMC Sierra in a timely manner. When unpacking the hitch and accessories I ordered, I couldn't find the hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) A quick call to etrailers got a fast response and the hardware was on its way to me in a couple of days. As soon as the hardware arrived I went online and watched the installation video twice. It was very helpful. Without the aid of power tools or a lift, I was able to install the hitch by myself in about :45. Believe me, if I can do it... you can too. Thank etrailers. I love my hitch.16529

The instructional videos for the receiver and wiring adapter allowed this newbie to understand that I wasn't taking on more than I could handle. Thanks to a perfect match to the truck frame, I was able to bolt the receiver up all by myself in just a few minutes. The wiring adapter, (Which was impossible to find locally) plugged right in with all lights working perfectly. I bought a mounting bracket for the 4 pin plug, only to find a bracket built right into the receiver. A thoughtful addition, I must say. I ordered the Hidden Hitch from etrailer after researching several on line retailers as well as stores. Etrailer had the best price by far.
