Today on this 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe we are going to install part number 75471, from Draw-Tite. And this will also apply to part number 87414 from Hidden Hitch. I will go ahead and show you where the hitch mounts up on the vehicle. This is actually relatively easy, although you want to have an extra set of hands when you put it up there. It is going to install in these two holes at the end of the frame right here. This is a new vehicle, so the threads are relatively clean. However, if you have an older vehicle, what you want to do is go ahead and clean out those threads just to make sure. This is going to be identical on both sides of the vehicle. We do not even have to take down the exhaust either. 0:31
Alright, we have the threads cleaned out. We can go ahead and put the hitch up in position. And again, it is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help hold it up. Alright, we have our bolts started. You have a little bit of movement left and right. Move it to the center as best as possible. And then go ahead and just snug up the bolts. Now that we have our bolts snugged down, we can go ahead and torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. And with those few steps our hitch is already installed. And there you have it for part number 75471 from Draw-Tite.

Hitch was shipped and delivered very quickly. Only point not in the installation instructions or video is that there was a Tie Down Bracket on the passenger side frame that had to be removed. The muffler must be dropped and the heat shield removed to access the bolt which goes horizontally through the frame rail. Other than that, installation was very simple.16401

I cant think of any thing else this company could have done to make this transaction any better. I was notified when the order was accepted, shipped, tracking information and finally when my hitch was delivered. Plenty of installation information in print and online videos. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have the hitch automatically installed by the time I got home. Thank you etrailer, I wish I needed another trailer hitch because I know right where to order one. I wonder if I can install one on the front of my truck..... Rick16133

Doing the install in my driveway was a little rough. I had to retapping the rusted threads in the frame. Found if I used rope around the tail pipes to draw the mufflers together, made it easier to do. Plus I used a floor jack ( my second hand) in the center to hold help hold it in place. The video was a great help. 11127

The produce is great . The holes lined up and it took about 20 minutes to install. The only thing i would advise is to run the bolts into the holes in the SUV first to clean the holes from road grime.7909

Trailer Hitch The Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch met my expectations. It is truly a hidden hitch. The fit was perfect but the installation took longer than expected due to the limited space available. It was difficult to get the bolts started. The electrical harness installation was easy. I followed the instructions provided by the video rather than those enclosed with the harness. Very Happy with Hitch Based on the other reviews I purchased this hitch. Looks great and a snap to install. My son bolted it in while I held it steady. PS: I have a 2009, and this model year has the wiring hookups installed even if you don't order the Trailer Package from Hyundai. I got the Valley T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Trailer Connector (30159) which plugged right into the Factory terminals behind the driver side rear wheel. No splicing required!3398

Great Hitch.. great price! Got this hitch for our 2009 Sante Fe. Holes line up, its shape fits the car perfectly! A little tricky getting the bolts to thread, definitely need a second person, one to hold the hitch and one to thread the bolts. Done in less that half an hour. Got the Valley Wiring kit 30159 for the Hyundai Trailer package. Check their video out and check your Sante FE, the harness connectors are their even if you didn’t order the Trailer Package!! (Driver side behind the rear wheel, on the panel opposite the muffler)3369

Hitch works great The hitch works great. Installing it was another issue. Once I got the rust cleaned out of the threads on my vehicle it went it pretty smoothly. I used my motorcycle lift to assist with getting the hitch in place. All in all a great product. 2603
