Note: Most trailer tires that are smaller than 15" and have 5 bolts, have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern.

How to Measure Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number is the diameter of the circle the holes sit on. To determine the diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure center-to-center on bolt holes directly across from each other on the circle (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 would mean 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" center-to-center diameter). When the number of bolt holes is odd, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from it on the circle (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 would mean 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolts).

AND / OR

The distance between the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of the bolt hole right next to it will also help determine the bolt pattern.

• If D = 2-5/8" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 4-1/2
• If D = 2-3/4" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 4-3/4
• If D = 3" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 5
• If D = 3-1/4" then the bolt pattern is a 5 on 5-1/2

• Given the measurements you provided, there are three spindles we offer for a 1750 lb axle. Part # R20484 4 Inch Long Stub Part # R20384EZ EZ Lube Spindle with 4-bolt Brake Flange Part # R2061-284 6.5 Inch Long Stub The bearing surfaces of each of the three are the same, with the difference being the overall length of the spindle. I would recommend using a digital caliper and comparing the bearing surfaces shown in the diagram on each product page to the existing spindle.
