I'm in a wheelchair, with a carrier on the back of my car. I also needed the ability to tow a small feed trailer for my small hobby farm. Using this product, along with the Curt Solid Steel 2" Hitch Bar I was able to fabricate a 30 inch long receiver extension, that I then welded my wheelchair ramp to the top of. The unit is 3 times thicker than the tube that my wheelchair carrier originally had, and the combination is very sturdy and tows my single axle trailer with ease. I'll be using etrailer from now on for my trailer and hitch needs!31007

What is the Outside Diameter and Wall Thickness of Trailer Hitch Fabrication Combo Bar # 80936
I went out to the warehouse to measure the Combo Bar, # 80936, using dial calipers. It does have an outside measurement of 2-1/2 inches square and is made from 1/4 inch thick steel. Its structural capacity will depend on how it is installed and the application. We do sell numerous solid (but not hollow) steel bars that are 2 inches by 2 inches and would fit inside this Combo Bar. I have included a link to the solid bar main page below.
