Yes it is a bar, but the wrong one for the job. The bar is too large in diameter to be used easily with the Domar jacks. Perhaps it worked well with Atwood jacks, but it is a poor choice for the current jacks. The bar is used by passing it through one of the holes visible in the slot on the outer face of the jack, then into a fixed hole in the back of the jack housing. When you press down on the bar, leverage forces the leg down and the trailer up. This works well enough. You then remove the bar and reinsert it into a higher hole to raise the trailer another notch. This is where the problem begins. Because the bar is almost exactly the same size as the two holes, it is very difficult to get the bar though both holes at the angle that is required. The slot on the back side of the extended leg is little larger than the diameter of the rod, so it also interferes with insertion. The jacks work perfectly if you use a smaller diameter rod. Instead of 1/2" (used for item 80480), 7/16" would probably be perfect. However, 3/8" is much more common and available at big box home improvement stores. 3/8" rod seems to be quite adequate, inserts very easily and is not overstressed in use. Conclusion: Buy 3/8" rod and cut your own. 18385

Handle Goes with the stabilizer jacks and is cheap enough that I bought two. Not much you can review or rate about a metal rod. 5549

i thought of buying this but i had a 3 foot long 3/8 drive extention for my ratchet that is awesome and is not the same size as the holes as mebtioned previously.. i replaced the screw type jacks that were worn out and twisted on my 97 viking 17 foot popup with these as my old 69 coleman had them as well. i find it easiest to drop the tongue jack very low then drop the rear jacks to the ground then take the tongue jack back to where the camper is level then drop the front jacks and put some pressure on them. atleast thats how i do it!19202

Nice, sturdy steel bar. Fits the trailer jacks perfectly. Not a must have, as a heavy duty screwdriver would probably do the trick, but nice to have.18934
