This adapter allows you to use your current hitch accessories in either a 2" or a 1-1/4" receiver hitch.

Hitch pins and clips sold separately
- Requires 5/8" pin for 2" receiver (PC3)
- Requires 1/2" pin for 1-1/4" receiver (PC2)

This part converts your 2 inch receiver down to a 1 1/4 inch receiver. It adapts for bicycle racks, cargo carriers and possibly ball mounts. Well install this on our two inch receiver hitch and show you how it sits in there. As you can see it sticks out from the hitch which may be an advantage to you have a hitch assist bar back underneath the bumper to give you enough clearance for additional accessories such as a bike rack, cargo carrier or ballmount. Well show you a couple of measurements on this which may be help you determine if you can use to your advantage. Our first measurement will be from pin hole to pin hole which looks like 6 3/4 inches. From this edge of the hitch to the adapter is also 6 3/4 inches. There you have it for part number 80300, the hitch adapter from Hidden Hitch.

This hitch adapter will allow me to use my bike rack (designed for 1 1/4 inch hitch) on my truck hitch receiver (2-inch). It's a great, inexpensive way to get double duty out of a single bike rack because we can now use it on two vehicles that have two different sized hitches.9459

Can Hidden Hitch 2 Inch Hitch Reducer be Used When Towing
The hitch adapter could be used while towing. Normally we would suggest purchasing a 2 inch ballmount with the correct size ball rather than use an adapter. Brophy part # HT02 would be a better choice of a reducer as a sleeve is stronger and will not reduce the capacity. You have to make sure you do not exceed the capacities of the 1-1/4 inch ball mount or the ball. The best solution and the one I recommend would be to use a proper 2 inch ball mount.
