Ordered 4 parts as part of an update to my tandem axle trailer. The correct lip seal is included with 3 and one has the wrong lip seal(too wide and wrong ID). Compatibility information with other parts ordered (brake assemblies in this order) is valuable. 16096

  • Replacement Hub and Drum Assembly for 1974 Tee Nee Boat Trailer with 7 inch Electric Brake Drum
  • The information you provided is great! From your part numbers I was able to find that the bearings would be a direct switch but that the grease seal and grease cap dimensions on the hub you have and the, 8-173-16UC3, 4 on 4 Trailer Hub / Drum Assembly are different. The, HD700ACU3, Complete hub and drum assembly is the part you would need for a direct replacement.

  • Can Drums from a Trailer with 7 Inch Hydraulic Brakes be Used When Converting to Electric Brakes
  • You might be able to re-use the drums. Some 7 inch hydraulic drums are sized differently and will not allow electric brake assemblies to be properly positioned in the drum. Some times the hydraulic drums are too deep and will make contact with the brake backing plate before they are seated all the way on the spindle. The best way to proceed is to try re-using the drums first and if they do not fit get drums made for electric brakes or you can buy electric brake drums from the start. We have o

  • Added Surge Brakes to a Pontoon Boat Trailer with 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern
  • We have two different drums available for your 4 on 4 setup, but in order to determine which is correct, we need to get your old bearing numbers. Your hubs will have two bearings, an inner and an outer. When we determine what the bearing numbers are we can find the right hub/drum. The numbers will be stamped on the bearings themselves. You only need to disassemble one side of the trailer. I have added a link to a video that covers removing seals and bearings from a trailer hub. If your ax

  • Are Dexter Hubs and Axle Components Compatible with AL-KO Axles
  • Many axle parts like hubs and brake assemblies are interchangeable. When replacing the hubs or drums, you need to make sure you get the proper hub for the spindle on the axle. Each manufacturer uses a range of spindles depending on the application, but they are all standardized sizes. The way to determine what hub you need is to remove the old hub, and find the bearing numbers that are stamped or etched into the bearings. This will tell you what spindle you have as well as what hub you will n

  • Which Trailer Spindle and Brakes Are Used with Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, # 8-173-16UC3
  • For Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, # 8-173-16UC3, you can use EZ Lube Spindle, # R104BTREZ. For bakes, use # 23-47 and # 23-48. When adding brakes to a trailer, you will need to make sure the trailer has a brake mounting flange welded to the axle. If they do not, you can add them and the welding will need to be done by a qualified professional welder. We have several mounting flanges, depending on your specific needs. You can find them using the link provided in the electric drum brake section.

  • Will the 7 Inch Trailer Hub/Drum # 8-173-16UC3 Fit on a 1987 MGS Handyman Cargo Trailer
  • It sounds as if the wheels that are on your trailer are hub piloted, meaning that the center of the wheel is mated to the outer diameter of the hub not on the mounting studs. In this case the dimension of the hub protrusion is critical for balance of the wheel and tire. At this time we do not carry hub piloted hub and drum assemblies. You may find that these style hubs are only available from the trailer manufacturer. The # 8-173-16UC3 Hub and Drum Assembly, would work for your trailer if
