Today on this 2010 Chrysler Town and Country we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87451 and this installation will also apply for Draw-Tite hitch part number 75579. Before we get started we are going to give you a couple of final installed dimensions which will help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 12-1/ 2 inches and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to be approximately 7 inches. Now we will move on to the hitch installation. 00:30
We are underneath the vehicle and we are starting off over on the passenger side. The first thing we are going to do is lower down the exhaust system to gain access to the passenger side frame rail. To do this we are going to lower the exhaust down off its two rear most hangers. There is one just forward of the muffler itself and if you continue forward on the vehicle just in front of the axle there is a second hanger there. These two hangers are both bolted to the frame so what we can do is take and just unbolt them. With the exhaust lowered and pulled out of the way we can point out the mounting holes we are going to be using to install the trailer hitch. 01:08
Starting over on the passenger side you look at the rear of the frame and you can see we have got two existing bolts on the rear side of the A/ C lines. We are going to remove both of those and reuse each one of those fasteners and those are going to provide the two attaching points for the trailer hitch. If you go over to the driver side you can see the same two bolts and we are going to be using both of those. However on the driver side we are going to be using a third attaching point and that is the third bolt that is in the frame on the forward side. Again, we are going to be reusing all of this hardware to put the hitch up so the next thing we want to do is remove each bolt from the frame and then we can put the hitch up into position. You want to be careful of the A/ C line when removing the bolt and also when putting the hitch up back into place. You can see the washer on the bolt is making contact so you can push that out of the way to get enough clearance with the washer to come down. 01:57
With all of the bolts removed again we are ready to put our hitch up into position and it is definitely a good idea to have a second set of hands to do this because the hitch is very heavy. Again when putting the hitch up over on the passenger side the forward side of the hitch is most likely going to slide underneath the A/ C line so you definitely want to take care when putting it up into place. When going to install over here on the driver side you may find that since the weld nuts that are inside the frame are all on one plate than when we remove the bolts likely the forward ones pushed up inside the frame and it is going to make it hard to get the bolts into position. What you can do is start at the rear most attaching point which should still be fairly close to the bottom of the frame. Put the bolt into position there and fully tighten that down and that is going to help to pull the other weld nuts back down into place. Then with all of the bolts up into position we are going to go back through now and torque the bolts down. You want to verify with the directions the specific torque ratings for each of the bolts. Then with all of the bolts torqued down we are going to go back over to the A/ C line on the passenger side and with the instruction kit is provided a little piece of loom and what we are going to do is take and feed this over the A/ C line to prevent rubbing against the hitch. With that installed we need to put the exhaust back up on its hangers and our installation will be complete. With that, that will conclude the installation of Hidden Hitch part number 87451 on a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country.

Arrived in 3 days with standard free shipping, everthing was great. Parts came with instructions for both the hitch and harness kit. Etrailer e-mailed me at each step: order recieved, order fufilled, order shipped, order delivered, great communication. Installation time was listed at 1/2 for each product, actual was more like 1 hour each. Hitch fit perfect and very well constructed. Same for the harness kit. Highly recommend! Awesome fast 2-1/2 day delivery to New England. Etrailer install videos are awesome and saved huge time. Nice hitch, went in fairly easily with just the 5 existing bumper mounting bolts, as shown clearly in the etrailer install video. It did take two of us to push the muffler aside enough to get to one bolt directly above the muffler. Go Etrailer! 11442

Great service! Received hitch in 2 days. Only problem was a big hole in the box and the right end of the hitch out of the box. That end was scratched and chipped. Other than that the hitch installed rather easily and the wiring harness was easy except for the wire that had to be run front to the battery. Never had one like that before11416

Very easy to install on 2010 Chrysler T&C. All the welds are smooth and uniform. Really like how unnoticeable it is on the van and that the receiver does not extend out past the bumper. Will be pulling and launching 23' sailboat.31084

Product was as advertised and just as easy to install as they said with the exception of "dropping the exhaust". after removing the bolt that holds up the exhaust, the muffler and pipe do not drop and must be forced (not easily) out of the way to access the bolts for installation, it also takes two people to do the install, as it takes one person to hold the hitch in place while the other gets a couple of the bolts started, I needed my son's help for about 5 minutes, otherwise everything was great!27438

I ordered this product after viewing the video of how to install it. After watching this I was sure I could install the hitch with little trouble. I doubted if I could do it in the 30 minutes that some of the reviews had stated it took. To my surprise I did in fact do the install in a little less than 30 minutes and I was doing the job by sliding under the vehicle with it up on a couple of jack stands. I have no hoist. The install was straight forward and simple. There were no surprises and I am 100% sure that there is no garage that could have improved on my installation. Thanks etrailer for saving me a great deal of $$$. The video of this install was invaluable!24176
