Today on this 2008 Ford F-150 we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87418. This installation will also apply for Draw-Tite hitch part number 75506. We are underneath the vehicle and the first thing I have done is lowered down the spare tire to give us a little bit more working room. Looking underneath the vehicle we are going to point out the attaching points that we are going to be using. Starting at the center of the vehicle at the bottom of the bumper there is two existing tabs and we are going to be using those for the two center most attaching points for our trailer hitch. Then looking over at the driver side of the vehicle the saddle bracket has two holes in it that we are going to be using to attach the hitch. The first one is at the rear most section and then if you move to the inboard side you can see there is a second hole that we will be using there and that is going to be the same on the passenger side of the vehicle as well. 00:44

With those holes pointed out we can put the hitch up in position. At the two rear most attaching points on each side we are going to be using the two inch hex bolt along with the conical tooth washer combination. At the rear most attaching point on the saddle bracket we do need to put the small spacer that is provided with the installation kit in between the hitch and the bracket itself. At the forward most attaching point we will be using the smaller 1-1/ 2 inch hex bolt. Now that we have got all of the hardware into place and snugged up we can go back through and torque the bolts down. You just want to verify with the directions the specific torque ratings for each of the bolts. With all of the bolts torqued down all we want to do is make sure we put our spare tire back up into position and our installation will be complete. Now with our trailer hitch installed we are going to give you a couple of final installed dimensions which will help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 17 inches and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to be approximately 4 inches. This will conclude the installation of Hidden Hitch part number 87418 on a 2008 Ford F-150.
