Today on this 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe we are going to install part number 75471, from Draw-Tite. And this will also apply to part number 87414 from Hidden Hitch. I will go ahead and show you where the hitch mounts up on the vehicle. This is actually relatively easy, although you want to have an extra set of hands when you put it up there. It is going to install in these two holes at the end of the frame right here. This is a new vehicle, so the threads are relatively clean. However, if you have an older vehicle, what you want to do is go ahead and clean out those threads just to make sure. This is going to be identical on both sides of the vehicle. We do not even have to take down the exhaust either. 0:31
Alright, we have the threads cleaned out. We can go ahead and put the hitch up in position. And again, it is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help hold it up. Alright, we have our bolts started. You have a little bit of movement left and right. Move it to the center as best as possible. And then go ahead and just snug up the bolts. Now that we have our bolts snugged down, we can go ahead and torque the bolts down as specified in the instructions. And with those few steps our hitch is already installed. And there you have it for part number 75471 from Draw-Tite.

Great service. Prouct arrived in 2 days. Videos were invaluable. Really made project easy. Only problem was getting bolts through corroded threads. We WD40 the holes and scrubbed with battery wire brush and still hard to torque by hand. Fortunately had access to Pneumatic gun which acceived success. Could not have done it without it. Wireing was a breaze!!29285

I am very happy with my order. Installation took longer than it should have, because my 8 year-old son was "helping", but it was still a breeze. I would suggest a wobble-tip extension for your ratchet, since the mufflers get in the way a bit. With a floor jack to hold the load, it is a simple one person install. Wire harness installed even easier, and the install video really helps to clarify, since the written instructions were a bit confusing.16608

Great product and very happy with etrailer.com. Shipping of the hitch perfect. The installation video helped a lot, especially the cleaning of the vehicles mounting holes - very important if you want the installation to go smoothly. Total install time from prep cleaning to bolting was about 1hr simple. My neighbor liked it so much he is looking in to a hitch for his truck.!12645

Arrived on time - no problems, easy to install. Installation took about an hour instead of the estimated 30 minutes, but that is mostly because I wasn't sure what I was doing and went a bit slow. The video for installing the wiring harness was very helpful - I would have even been slower without that. 9737

This trailer hitch receiver was easier to install then I thought. While it is stated in the instructions that two people are usually necessary to install it, I was able to get it installed alone. Great product and excellent delivery times. 7018

Hitch installed My husband can't do this type of auto work any more, so I installed the hitch. We used a lift table to hold the hitch up while I did the installation. The one thing your video needs to state is to pull the mufflers over a little (about one inch). That gives just the amount of room for your hand to fit up there to start the bolts. The wrench was about the same. Frank pulled the pipes over just a bit and it went very well. I used large wire ties to hold the wire harness up, along with the sticky tape. We tested everything and all works perfect! Now to buy the trailer! We will recommend this, and your company to everyone! It took me just about one hour to do the job...I was a bit nervous because I wanted to do a good job, and make sure those bolts were tight.4929

As advertised; Does the job Hitch fit perfectly, and works as expecfted. No complaints there. etrailer shipped it fast. My only 2 complaints are cost: this is my 3rd hitch I have purchased in the past 6 years (on diff. vehicles), and while the price is a couple bucks cheaper than anywhere else, it's $50 more than my '02 Santa Fe I bought for a few years ago. Secondly, install was a little tight for a big guy with big hands!! You can crawl under without jacking up the back end, but it's very tight. And the space between the mufflers and the side of the hitch frame is tight for larger hands. My suggestion for a very quick install: back the rear end up on ramps, and use a 5/8" short socket with a long extension. This will cut a 15 minute install to 5 minute. Once you have some room, it's very simple and quick. Beyond that, I'm not thrilled with the design of any of the aftermarket hitches, as they wrap below the muffler on both sides. This is very visable from behind, and not very visually appealing. Would be better if the hitch wrapped above the muffler, completely out of sight.2080

Outstanding! Very easy bolt on design - two people to install may be easier, otherwise, use two car jacks to assist. Mount is completely hidden except for the Hitch. Towing capacity exceeds that of my trailer capacity. Have used with a rental trailer and works just great!698
