Today we are going to install part number 87719 from Hidden Hitch. On our 2005 Chrysler Town and Country. This also applies to part number from Draw Tite 75305. Our first step to install is to remove a few bolts. Starting with these 3 bolts in the shackle. You take out the 2 bolts on the outside and then finally the center bolt. Then behind here the first bolt behind it. We need to take this bolt out of there as well. All of this hardware will be reused. The next step is to go ahead and install the hitch. This is a good point to get a second pair of hands. You will have to wiggle it within the hitch itself then bring it back to the rear of the vehicle. We have the hitch hung by one bolt on each side to hold it up. Next we will snug that bolt down and watch the hitch wrap around that center bolt. Sometimes it helps to snug that bolt down and it pops around the center bolt.
Once you have that done you can get your outer bolt installed. After you get the hole lined up you can go ahead and install your other bolt. Once you get done moving the hitch around the way you want it just make sure this edge is sitting around the washer here. If you can feel the edge make sure it is the edge of the hitch is flush and sitting on top of the spring hanger. There should not be any sort of opening there what so ever. The next step is to these spacer plates that go in between the hitch and the frame. The factory bolt is going to be put back in. Sometimes this does not line up. It actually flexes pretty easy at this part. Once they are lined up and ready to go we can snug them up and do the same for both sides. Next we can get ready for the final torque. That takes care of our install of part number 87719 on a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country.

Very easy to install. I don't know anything about cars and installed this. Really glad I didn't need to drill anything. Take 6 screws out and put the hitch in place with a friend and screw the 6 screws back in that easy. Watch the video its a no brainer.24994

So far all I have done is install the hitch... well my brother did anyway. It took him about an hour and 45 minutes to get the hitch and wiring installed. The instructions explained the installation well, but you actually had to read them. Just skimming dod not work well in this case. 21813

Product fit very well. Installation was easy except for one non-serious issue. I am a backyard mechanic and don't have a lift available or any assistants to help me. When I jacked my van up to install, I jacked it up on the rear axle with one jack at each wheel. This was not a good idea because I couldn't get the hitch at enough of an angle to slip it into place. To remedy I just jacked the vehicle by the jacking points. Therefore the wheels and axles and springs just hung down and presto, it was easy to position the hitch for installation.15279

Wiring harness was a challenge, no fault of the product, just the interior panels of the van proved to be difficult. Hitch and harness was at my door in 3 days. The hitch was a breeze, took longer to get the ramps and tools together than to put the hitch on. This is the 3rd time I purchased a hitch from etrailer. I tell all my friends to buy from here also. Haven't hing yet but install was a snap! Very solid product there were some scratches/chipped paint on hitch that is why 4 stars. Installed on 07 Town & Country alone with out raising the van. With help it's easily a 15 min job. Installed the hitch and T-one in an hour. Instruction videos are good. Next to tackle tranny cooler.14599

Hitch was of great quality. I love the videos to help with installation. Wiring harness was installed VERY easily by just plugging it in. The only issue I had was one bolt hole on the hitch was an 1/8 to 1/4 inch off and required a little creativity to get the bolt started. After the threads were started the impact drill did the rest. Service was amazing as always. I am a repeat customer and would gladly order again! Thanks12703
