Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Today we are going to show you an install on part number 65050. This is a front mount hitch and we are installing it on 07 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. To begin our install we have to remove our license plate holder which is the square object in the center there. That has to come off and whats next is we have to cut a hole in the bumper so that the receiver can poke through. The plate is riveted on so we will have to drill out these rivets and just pop them off. What seems to work is grab the backside of the rivet with a pair of pliers and drill out the front and it comes right apart. Our next step is to start measuring so we can knock out our hole in the bumper. We are going to start with a common measurement. Basically we are going to start from this bolt right here.
Center this bolt then we are going to measure it all the way to the ground and get a reference point from there. We got our measurement and it came out to 26 inches of course yours might vary. Our next step is subtract 3-1/4 of an inch. Then that gives us 25-1/4. Then we mark that difference from the front of the bumper to the ground. The next mark we have to measure from here up 3-1/4 inches. Off the mark you made from top to bottom you have to go right and left 1 inch and 5/8 and make your marks. Measure across and double check yourself with 3 inches and 1/4. You might want to double check the bottom edge to your marks and make sure they are square. Then go ahead and drill 4 holes and we will take our knife and cut it all out. What we need to do is take this nut off and loosen this bolt up. One this side starting from the the toe hook but then do the same thing on the other side.
Now on the driver side you gotta remove the entire bolt but we will just leave the bolts in on this side for now. At this point we can go ahead and install our hitch on the one bolt thats hanging through. Then we will take our other bolt and put it on the backside. Once we have the hitch up there take a few minutes to match it to the holes on the frame. You do have some adjustment washers to move it left or right depending on the vehicle. Ours fits up there snug without any washers what so ever. So we are going to go ahead and just start installing our hardware. In most instances the holes are a little off center. Now we will take a measurement and we will see how much we can move it on the other side so it is nice and even. Next we want to install our hardware it goes to this access hole here. What we need to do is this plate and this handle nut. The bolt you can just slip into place, and the handle nut you can just bend them at will. Then it will go around any obstacle you want it to go around. On a tow loops we will go ahead and put the bolts back on. Once we got our bolts lugged down we will be ready for the final torque. Alright and there you have it for part install 65050 on our 2007 Silverado 3500 HD.

This was my third order in 2 months from eTrailer with great service each time. I will definitely check with them first next time I need something they might have and would recommend them to others. This hitch was mounted on an '08 3500 and I was able to leave the stock license plate holder mounted. I'll remove the license plate for those times I need to use the hitch. Once mounted, the hitch is virtually invisible behind the front facia and does not cause any problems with clearance. Very satisfied with the product.7873
