For use when your gear on your hitch mounted cargo carrier blocks the vehicle taillights. This kit easily attaches to the side lip on several Draw-Tite cargo carriers and simply plugs into the vehicle's wiring harness. This is a simple and safe solution to get you where you are going.

- How do You Insert the Wires Into the Back of the Lights on the 6504 Cargo Carrier Light Kit
- You plug the corresponding wires on the 6504 Draw-Tite Cargo Carrier Light Kit into the upper (larger) holes on the back of the taillights. There are two holes for tail/brake lights and running lights. These holes are labeled. The wires should be stripped 3/8 to 1/2 inch prior to insertion. The lower (smaller) set of holes are there to allow removal of the wires if need be. You would stick a small round object, such as a paper clip, into the lower hole and press, releasing the wire. - Passenger Side Light in Draw-Tite Cargo Carrier Light Kit Only Works Part of the Time
- The problem you are having sounds like a classic ground issue. Ground problems normally appear when the system is under load (stepping on the brakes, turning on the running lights). Make sure that there is no plastic in between where the lights are mounted and the lights themselves.
Next, make sure that all of the pins on the trailer connectors are clean and free of corrosion.
