Today we are going to show you part number S64005 from Swagman. This is their DLX Bicycle Adapter. What the DLX adapter will do for you is level out your bike on your bicycle rack. So if you have an alternative frame or a ladies bike, it keeps them from sitting at extreme angles on your bicycle rack.
We will go ahead and show you how to install this on our bicycle here. We have an alternative frame bicycle, and it is pretty easy to install. We will start with the front half underneath the handlebars here. Just open it up, pushing this button here. And then slide it around and snap it back into place. And do the same thing with the back half. Push the button to open it up and it will go underneath the seat. And let it spring back to its natural position. And you can see there is plenty of movement. And then you can go ahead and simply carry the bike that way. As you can see the bicycle carrier will do the same thing.
All right, we will go ahead and install it on a typical bicycle rack here. With the adapter bar installed, you can see that the bike sits a lot more level than it would before.And there you have it for part number S64005 from Swagman, the DLX Adapter Bar.

This is my second purchase of this adapter. It has been working well on my mothers (ladies) bike, and also works on my daughters bike. Although, for a kids bike it just barely fits (almost too long) I have been more than happy with the bar, and would recommend it 100%16309

I was looking for something to help hang my wife's bike on a car bike rack. The girls style bike is hard to hang properly if at all. I found this adapter bar on etrailer. I have a comfort bike and an Subaru Impreza that sits close to the ground. This combination has the front tire of my bike sitting too close for comfort to the ground when on a hill or incline. If the part that hooks to the front of the bike could push that end of the bike up a few more inches, it would be excellent. I'm currently using layers of Velcro around the bike to give it this boost.82413

Mind the minimum length of your W bike. Measure first before you buy. The internal coil tension was weak so it doesn't fit snugly if you just want to extend 1 inch out. Also, the bike sways a lot with this adapter, so MUST strap it down, or try to reverse the clamps 73533

I purchased the Thule raceway 9001 bike carrier to use on my 2013 Subaru Outback. I receved it on time and it was easy to fit on my Subaru. My only problem was our two mountan bikes would not fit on the carrier together . I had to order two Swagman bike frame adapters. They also were delivered on time . Absolutely Wunderbar (wonderful)! etrailer support U.S. Service member by being one of the ONLY online vehicle equipment ordering organizations that ships to an APO address. (and I searched a ton of them) I live in Germany and work for the DoD. After researching SEVERAL sites to purchase and ship a trailer hitch, bike rack, mountain bike mount and electrical system to support it for my needs, I discovered my ONLY solution I was etrailer. Lots of others had the gear I required, but NONE of them, would ship to an APO address. Yes, the prices were just a bit higher than a few of the other sites, but without the ability to ship to an APO, the price difference was negligable. So, the GREAT things about etrailer; 1. Easy/simple ordering process 2. great seach tool capability, allowing me to find everything I needed and recommended other items I may not have thought about. 3. Simple / well layed out online order ability. 4. Amazingly quick, delivery. Within 10 days of my order being placed, I had everything in the mail. Yes, shipping cost a bit more than desired, but again, paying a bit more to ship at least allowed it to actually BE shipped to my APO. The "Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapters" were highly recommended to me by bike enthusiasts. These are a welcome addition to our bike rack for this coming spring, summer and fall months. I've always had problems carrying my wife's mountain bike and last year my new "Townie" - these devices will end me time and difficulty with mounting our bikes and removing then removing them from our carrier. I called Swagman with the problem that my daughter's new bike couldn't fit in the existing bike rack cradles. They directed me to eTrailers and gave me the part number I needed. Less than a week later the adapter arrived, and it is just what I needed. My only minor problem was that my daughter has her seat adjusted low, so I had to move the reflector off the seat stem in order to make room for the adapter. 25075

Seems like a nice product when you first hold it in your hands. Solid build and tough quality. It does what it is supposed to do very well, which is to give you additional clearance on odd frames, like women's specific geometry, to mount to the rack. The biggest problem is because of the needs of the design, the bike will sway quite a lot. So much so that it totally negates the benefit of the swagman XP standard racks rock solid mounting. I had to strap down the bike to ensure the bike doesn't sway so much. It may be a necessary evil... but the jury is out as I just got it and only got 3.5 hours of driving with it.23802

This thing is cool. The other night I was researching hitches and bike racks when I realized my wife's bike was not going to fit on any rack. So I was initially disappointed, then I came across this thing. I got it earlier this week and opened it tonight (by the way, I ordered Sunday night, had two or three messages from etrailer by Monday before I woke up, the last of which was telling me my order shipped - pretty awesome). It fit right on her bike and gave me a way to hang it on the rack in the garage and the rack on the car. Works great. I was concerned it would not be sturdy, but it is quite strong. I was unsure of which alternative frame bike adapter to buy so I bought two (S64004 and S64005). After using both of these, I would ONLY buy product S64005. The S64004 product is very cumbersome to put on your bike. The tubes don't stay together and it will take you 15mins to get it put on your bike. Also, it will scratch your seat post and handlebar stem. The S64005 bike adapter is the one to buy! It is very simple and easy design. Very easy to get on and off your bike in 1min. The tubes stay together with a magnet type design. No scratches, no hassle! I would recommend buying this product for sure! (S64005!!) 20647
