Tow Ready 3 Hitch Bike Carrier Review

Video Transcript for Tow Ready 3 Hitch Bike Carrier Review

Today we are going to show you part number 63123 from Tow Ready. What we have here is a folding 3 bike bicycle rack that will fit either an 1 inch and 1/4 class 2 receiver hitch or a 2 inch receiver hitch. This does carry up to 3 bikes. This bike rack does come with heavy duty Velcro straps to secure the bike to the carrier which will not allow it to be removed or be scratched. Also the cradles themselves have a rubber padding which will not allow the bikes to get scratched up and grips them nice and tight. Also this bicycle rack will tilt forward to allow access to the rear of the vehicle. Once again this will fit an inch and a 1/4 class 2 receiver hitch or a class 3 2x2 receiver hitch. It is really easy to convert it into an incha and a 1/4 since we have it in the 2 inch position right now. Pull this pin and all you have to do is spin it around and it is ready to go into a class 2 receiver hitch.

Alright, let us go ahead and install it in a typical 2 inch receiver hitch and show you how it works. Alright, next we will show the tilt feature on this bicycle rack, it is pretty easy. Again, you pull out this one pin here then move it up to this hole here. Then you simple let it sit down and it tilts to have easy access to the back of your SUV. We will show you how to load the bike. It is pretty simple. You take these straps and undo them then go ahead and set your bike into place. Then you just reinstall the straps. And there you go, the bike is secured to a cradle and you do not have to worry about rubber straps stretching or breaking or anything like that. Next we will show you the cradles on this bicycle rack. I will give you a couple dimensions. It is going to be 8 and a half inches wide so it gets a good grip on the bike and makes it more stable. And also the straps themselves, the Velcro straps, they are about a quarter wide also. The padding in the cradles themselves are a little over a 1/4 inch thick. Then on the very end of the bike rack you have a nice reflector. There you have it for part number 63123 from Tow Ready, the folding 3 bike carrier for 1 inch and 1/4 class 2 hitches and 2 inch trailer receiver hitches.

  • Can a Class II Three Bike Rack be Used with a Draw-Tite Trailer Class I Hitch on a 2008 Rondo by Kia
  • The only hitches available for the Kia Rondo are Class I hitches, like the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Hitch, item # 24797. Class I hitches are limited to 2 bikes because of the torque applied to the hitch and vehicle frame by the weight of the bikes and bike rack and the distance they stick out behind the vehicle. The Tow Ready Hitch Bike Rack, item # 63123 will not work in a Class I hitch because there is a stop located in the receiver that limits the hitch to the installation of Class I

  • Bike Rack Recommendation that Allows 2002 Toyota RAV4 Rear Door to Fully Open
  • It is unlikely that any folding bike rack will allow you to fully open the rear swinging door on your 2002 Toyota RAV4. Folding racks do not tilt far enough or low enough for rear swinging doors. You will need to use a swinging bike rack. For a swinging bike rack, you will also need a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver. If you need a 2 inch trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75125. It is the most popular hitch for your vehicle. I have included a link to the installation inst

  • Trunk and Roof Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2008 Kia Rondo
  • The issue is that the available trailer hitches for the 2008 Kia Rondo are all Class I trailer hitches. A Class I trailer hitch is limited to 2 bikes. Having more produces more torque on the receiver than it was designed to handle and can damage the hitch and vehicle. The people carrying 4 bikes either do not know this or do it anyway. It sounds like you have a rack already that fits the Coleman camper for the bikes. When not towing the camper, I believe I have a solution for you. You can ca

  • How to Secure Bikes and a Trunk Mount or Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack to a Vehicle
  • For pretty much any bike rack ranging from a trailer hitch mount rack like # 63123 to a trunk mount like the Thule Passage 3, # TH911XT, you can use a cable lock to secure the bikes to the rack. The 10 Foot Long Cable Lock, # CAB-10, would be a good choice because it is not bike rack specific. All you have to do is wind the cable through the bikes and around the rack and you can secure both to the safety chain loop on the hitch or a tow hook underneath the vehicle. The cable is coated in plas

  • Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2000 Mazda Miata
  • The Tow Ready rack, # 63123, measures 11-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar in the 1-1/4 inch configuration. This bike rack will only fit in a Class II, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. The hitches for your Miata are all going to be Class I hitches. The 3 bike rack that offers the most clearance is the Swagman Titan, # S63405. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the up right bar measures 14-1/2 inches. It can be used on a Class I hitch but the maximu
