Today on this 2002 Honda Accord were going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number 60913, and this installation will also apply to Draw Tite Hitch part number 24791. Before we get started with our installation we are going to show you a couple final install hitch dimensions which will make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening is going to measure 10-3/4 inches and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to measure approximately 5 inches, and now we will go ahead and move on to our installation. Starting off up underneath the vehicle we want to go ahead and first point out the mounting holes that we are going to be using to attach the hitch to the vehicle. Starting over here on the drivers side of the vehicle, just forward of the trunk well on the frame itself we have an existing hole here. If we move towards the center of the vehicle on the back side of the spare tire well weve got an existing tow hook here that will provide our center attaching point for the hitch.
And then moving over the passengers side of the vehicle here were going to be using the same hole as we had used on the drivers side, however as you can see on the passengers side we do have the exhaust in the way. So we will go ahead and first lower that down to give us access to the passengers side frame rail. So to get the exhaust out of our way we are going to have to remove it from its three rear most hangers. Weve got one here on the inboard side, if you follow forward on the muffler, on the outboard side, theres your second one, and if you follow the exhaust tube forward just to the rear of the rear axel theres our third one. To aid in the removal of the rubber hangers, were going to go ahead and take a spray lubricant and spray down the studs and the rubber hanger, and you need to take a pry bar, pair of pliers, Im going to actually use an exhaust hanger removal tool here.
Before I go ahead and remove the exhaust off its third hanger, I am going to go ahead and put some form of support strap across the tube, because once we lower the exhaust off of all three hangers it will want to fall down and it could damage your exhaust system. The larger hole is going to be our access point to get the hardware inside the frame, but as you can see on the initial fit that the hardware doesnt fit. So the first thing we need to do is enlarge the holes just enough to get the hardware inside the frame. Okay to get our hardware inside the frame we are going to be using our provided bolt leader that comes with the installation kit, and what we are going to do is take the threaded end and bring it up through the attaching hole and bring it back out our access hole, and then go ahead and take the 1 X 3 inch block, go ahead and slide it onto the bolt leader, follow with the 1-1/4 inch carriage bolt, which we will take and wrap the threads of the bolt leader around the threads of the carriage bolt, and insert the block inside the frame, followed by the carriage bolt, and pull them down into place. Okay again go ahead and repeat that for the passengers side of the vehicle, and well go ahead and put our hitch up into position.
On the bottom side here we will be using conical tooth washer and hex nut. To go ahead and attach the hitch to the frame, okay with the two frame attaching points loosely installed, were going to go to the center tow hook that we talked about earlier. At this attaching point we are going to be using the 1 X 2 inch attaching block, along with the 2 inch long carriage bolt, merge those two together on the passengers side of the tow hook, and then in between the attaching point and the hitch, and the tow hook on the drivers side we do need to put this spacer block. Insert it through the hitch and again attach it with a conical tooth washer and hex nut. Then with all our attaching points loosely installed were going to go ahead and snug each one of the bolts down and then go back through and tork them.
I am going to start the tightening process at the frame most attaching points, and then well move to the tow hook, when torking the bolts down we want to verify the specific tork rating of each of the bolt with the instructions. With all the bolts torked down we just want to make sure we put our exhaust back up on its hanger, and our installation will be complete. And with that that will conclude the installation Hidden Hitch part number 60913. .

Easy installation, perfect fit The Hidden Hitch arrived at approx. 2pm, and was completely installed by 4pm, including the T-connector wire harness. Easy installation, and it fit perfectly on my '99 Acura. The step by step instructions were right on, and I even used the large shipping box to lie on while I worked under the vehicle. I will highly reccommend Etrailer.com to anyone that requires an after-market hitch or accessories .3913

Took about 25 minutes to install. It was super easy to install, granted i had access to a full shop. The kit requires that you file out a hole in the frame for hardware to be fed through. I used a reamer type bit on an impact drill. Very sturdy and it looks better than other hitches. On a side note, we had to take the exhaust off of a couple of hangers to get to the front mounting holes.29000

Finding the correct hitch for my vehicle and ordering were very easy with etrailer.com. They shipped immediately and I had it in no time. I was a little anxious about how well it would install but it went on without a "hitch", pardon the pun. Installation instructions were accurate and easy to follow. I would strongly recommend etrailer.com to anyone.23985

Just finished installation on my 2000 Honda Accord 2 Dr Coupe this evening. After spending perhaps 15 minutes reviewing the "How To" videos and instructions, all was fit up and on the car in under one hour; light kit was plugged in and checked out fine in under 10 minutes. Fit was good, instructions clear, shipping quick and customer support by email (during order process) was even done across a Sunday and a holiday Monday (Labor Day). I highly recommend etrailer to all that want a quality experience at a budget price with very good and courteous support personnel. A home run, or guess touchdown for sure ! As clarification, the enlargement of the hole in the frame was a very simple "stretching" of the hole to allow just enough margin to pull the carriage bolt head through with the fish wire. This can easily be done in the tight space over the mufflers by using a socket on a wrench handle that just fits into the hole, then pulling down and pushing up (opposing sides of the hole. After two repetitions, there was just enough wiggle room to get the carriage bolt head through (30 seconds total time).23844

Worked well, fit correctly. A second person and lift would have made it easier. Rather than trying to enlarge the holes, not easy with the exhaust size, why not smaller head and narrower cross piece. Would have been easier to grind, which I realized after. 19968

It wasn't as easy as I would have liked. The holes almost lined up with the frame. A little pry here and coordination to get the nuts on, it went fairly well. Lining up on the tow hook on the back bolt took a little help from the wife but it did go in finally. Have yet to pull anything yet but everything's tight and ready to go.10305
