Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Gooseneck
Do you have a question about this Gooseneck?
- Will the Draw Tite 6002 fit in the Rails for the DrawTite 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
- The Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, item # 6002, will install in the rails that your fifth-wheel hitch sets in.
If you need the gooseneck to be set further back in the hitch, for turning clearance, you could use the Pro Series 25K Gooseneck Plate for Fifth Wheel Rails, item # 49080, which is offset toward the rear rail in the bed of your pickup. The center of the ball is 10-1/2 inches from one end of the plate and 14-1/2 inches from the other end.
There is not a sliding gooseneck

- Is the Ball on Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Offset
- The ball on the Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, part # 6002, is centered front to back and side to side. Whether or not the ball sits centered over the axle will depend on the rails in your truck bed. It will fit Valley rails. In order to find out whether or not it will fit Husky rails, you will need to measure. The Tab measurements for the hitch are at the bottom of the product page.

- Recommended Gooseneck Hitch to Fit Fifth Wheel Rails on 2002 GMC Sierra
- Since you already have the rails installed in the bed, I would recommend the Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part # RP58079. This hitch would easily mount to the existing fifth wheel rails and would allow you to easily switch back and forth between gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers.
I would recommend this hitch over the part # 6002 that you were looking at, due to the integrated safety chain loops offered by the RP58079.
I will include a link below to the installation instruction
