Today we are going to be showing you part number 59881. It is the ladder peg with tie downs from Rola. Each package comes with four and these ladder pegs install in the channel of your Rola roof rack cross bars to provide support for ladders and other similar loads. The pegs come with many tie down straps and are sold four to a pack. We will go ahead and show you how these install on the roof rack itself. We have them installed on the front one as you can see. Now we will go ahead and show you on the back one exactly what is needed to get everything set up. First we are going to go ahead and loosen up this arm here so we can actually slide in the plates that the ladder pegs actually screw into. Lift up like so, and you loosen the screw here. And then this strip here will actually be removed.

See here, there is this channel here and the plates for the ladder pegs actually fit in to that channel like so. And you put two of them in there. And now we will go ahead and put our ladder rack itself back together. You want to go ahead and leave them loose because we are going to be adjusting these as we go along. Now let us go ahead and place these back on the car. And we are going to go ahead and show you how these tighten down. But also, we are going and make a few minor adjustments to them to make sure that the ladder itself fits properly on the rack. But, before we do that, go ahead and install the pegs. You can see, there is a threaded hole here that the pegs themselves actually thread into.

Now you want to leave them a little bit loose so you are actually able to move these around. Then measure out, roughly, how much space you are going to need for the ladder or similar load. Now that everything is nice and spaced out we can go ahead and and tie these down with the straps that come with the kit itself. Now we have that done, we will go ahead and tighten down the ladder pegs. Go ahead and take our ladder back off and tighten down the other mini screws on the other side. Which, the kit comes with an Allen key to tighten those very screws down. We will go ahead and put our ladder back on but before we do, I would like to point out a small feature about this. If you notice at the top of the ladder pegs, there is a little, black rubber cover. If you take that off, there is a point here where you can screw in the Rola eye bolt which is part number 59880. Okay, we will go ahead and put the ladder on. Set it down in a nice position and get the straps to tie it down. Okay, as you can see, we have the ladder tied down. We put one strap back here and we add the additional one up front. It is nice and sturdy, it is not going to go anywhere. Now feel free to add more tie downs as you see fit.
